I've been a Blackberry person for years and finally caved in and purchased this so I could finally have 3G (which put my non-3G Blackberry's to shame). T-Mo is a little behind the times and is now finally catching up with cool phones and more 3G, and this phone is a really good start to a future of great phones from them. I personally love it.

First of all, this phone is sleek. The styling is really nice and sexy. It could use a chrome band but that is just me being picky. Even the charger is cool (except the darn blue light is horrid at night--I had to put tape over it so I could sleep!).

Second, this phone is feature-rich and easy to use. Blackberries are a nightmare to do anything on (especially change the blasted ring-tones). This phone however, is a cinch to do everything. The menus are user friendly and simple.

This phone is fast. It does bog down at times but can be fixed with the free app "task killer free edition". Everything loads fast and runs smoothly. I downloaded about 7 things at once while listening to a song and playing a game. This phone is a pro at multi-tasking.

This phone is fun. I love the fact that Google Android allows ad's on their apps so the majority can be free. Some may hate the ad's but those people can buy the ad-less versions for a fee and those cheap people like myself will deal with the banner ad. It is brilliance. The app store is not as good at Apple's but is darn close. It definitely puts BB app store to shame. The beauty of the Android store is that you can buy an app, hate it and un-install it within 24 hours for a FULL refund!! WOW!

This phone is the best T-Mobile has, though not the best out there. It really is a good value too considering all the great apps and the fact that TMO has low prices in comparison to ATT and VZ. Make sure to purchase this phone WITHOUT a contract and pay for monthly installments on the phone with the even more plus plans. It will pay for itself in the 14th month and begin to save you $20 per month after that because the even more plus plans are much cheaper than the even more ones.

REMEMBER: T-Mobile will ALWAYS waive your activation/upgrade fee if you ask and give you at least ONE free month of service if you are considering to switch to another carrier. Be sure to upgrade through the customer service number, you will have the best luck getting discounts. HAGGLING IS KEY!!!

Again, Even More Plus plans are $20 for the internet and $10 less for each anytime minutes tier, Even more are $30 and $10 MORE. You will save $20 per month by not signing a contract and paying full price for the phone by signing up for even more PLUS plans. Do your calculations and realize it will be cheaper to pay full price in the long run and begin to save you hundreds (they even have a monthly installment plan for their phones). GOOD LUCK ON PHONE SHOPPING!!

Still stuck in another year of T-Mobile contract, and so rather than pay the $200, I thought I'd try this - the MyTouch. At first, I thought it would do the job - until I received my first email with an attachment... (You can only open atachments to gmail messages). I have already returned the phone to T-Mobile, and returned to my Blackberry.

The phone is cute, a good size, easy to configure and pretty easy to use for basic functions. Some fun and useful downloadable widgets, and the multiple screens that you can move between laterally are a nice feature. Sound quality is good. However, it has some idiotic constraints. If you get an attachment at G-Mail, it can be opened and viewed. If you get one at a POP mail account you have set up on the phone... well, tough. The attachment cannot be opened.

In any case, why have different icons for different email accounts in the first place? [...and YET ANOTHER inbox for text messages? Stupid...] As another reviewer has noted, email seems S L O W. Maybe the synch settings needed changing? If so, I couldn't find out how to do so.

No flash with the otherwise good camera.

The keyboard sucks. If you need to go back to correct a word, positioning the cursor in a specific place is intensely frustrating. Sometimes the space "key" just wouldn't work (as it was at the edge of the screen, maybe?).

So - I will be waiting for my contract to expire to get an iPhone, or a new Blackberry, maybe just decide to splurge and pay the get-out fee...

If you want a toy, this phone is OK. If you want a serious "PDA" phone, look elsewhere.

This phone is T- Mobile's flagship Android phone. I have compared this with the Iphone (1st generation 3G). The HTC phone is physicaly much smaller than the Apple, has less less memory, and less peripherals available on the current market (ie electronic transfer cables, audio jacks to car stereos, etc etc). However, this phone is very powerful with the Android OS. One of its major strongpoints is it is extremely customizable. Layout on the phone is done with three layer panels. You can arrange all widgets to be placed on a certain pane then slide to rearrange all you friends aligned by preferenced order (almost a visual speed dial setup). This allows you to used the most used functions on one panel and seperate apps on another. You can get messages instantaneously while using other apps or connect your most talked to friends while watching a game onthe phone. Efficient and focused on mulitasking is priority with this smartphone. Iphone is is not that customizeable where my neighbor's iphone operates the same (and almost looks the same with the apps) as my coworkers iphone. Android's search engine capacity is Google supported. Speed with Google is no slouch and simultaneous operation with mutiple apps is not a problem. Comparing with he iphone maybe half a second or so behind. The memory capacity is also a strong suit. Standard is 4 GB using a micro SD card. At the time of this writing it can be increased to 64 GB with a micro SD card swap. Fully upgradeable without buying a new phone. Apple needs you to commit whether you get 8, 16, or 32 at initial purchase. 3G Phone coverage is very good and phone sound is clear. Pinch Zoom is rumored to be automatically downgraded to current Android supported phones. IMO if you want an established smartphone that has already reached its potentail get the iphone, those who are eager to ride the upswing of Android's untapped power get this phone. Liken it to the comparison of flatscreen TVs(iphone) vs 3D flatsceens (my touch Android).

Before this phone I used a Blackberry for several years and was very happy until my Curve went kaput. I really wanted an iphone as I have an ipod touch I love but didn't want to switch service providers or pay $600 for an unlocked phone. The mytouch 3g seemed to have it all and I was very happy with it at first. As time passed I realized several things...first of all I never got used to the non-physical keyboard. I even switched to a different keyboard version but wasn't happy. It takes me about 5 times as long to send messages and I realized the bulk of my phone use, besides using it as an actual phone, is text messaging. It was email as well before but on this phone I don't even bother with that as it's way too slow and frustrating. It has a flood of cool apps and I downloaded quite a few to see what I liked. I used them for the first month or 2 but now not so much. I use the GPS frequently but I could get that on a Blackberry. Unfortunately, having used my "phone upgrade" I'm not eligible for another year and a half and phones are expensive without that option. Lesson learned, apps are cool but if you type frequently on your phone and use email then you might think about going with a blackberry or a simpler phone. To me these Android phones try to do way too much and the end result is a sluggish and buggy phone that freezes up and leaves you sending your wife cryptic text messages. Of course they're releasing a version with a physical keyboard but that wouldn't solve it for me. I miss my Blackberry.

I finally figured out what HTC stands for--Hate This Cellphone! This thing has more bugs than a beehive and it is seriously bad news. I've so many dropped calls and calls that do not even go through due to this faulty phone.

Keep in mind this is my second one. I traded the first one in under warranty. When I use the calculator it starts putting in numbers that we previously used if I just press a number key. I press 9 to save messages, it shows 7 and deletes them. To add insult to injury, Tmobile nickles-and-dimes customers by having them buy a 3.5mm cord to connect a headset. They could've just made it 3.5mm like every phone on the market but I guess Tmobile figures it doesn't make enough money selling the phone outright so it must resort to jacking you on ridiculous things!

when i first got it it was great piece of equipment better than the g1 and smaller form and thinner made it a plus for this cellphone but it does not have the things i wanted the G1 to have like flash camera which to me was alet down and tmo 3g coverage in my area is awesome blazing speed and great quality it's just they are always behind with some older equipment and really behind to get more advanced smartphones but anyways great google os and better design thn the g1
