The Cutest Read-Along I've Ever Heard!, March 21, 2002

When I first heard that Drew Barrymore would be the narrator on this CD, I figured she would be playing an older version of her character in the movie, and that the CD had probably just been made. Before five seconds of the CD went by, I realized I was wrong. The narrator is still Drew, but she's fresh from the E.T. movie! The material on the CD was probably made in 1982, because Drew sounds just as young and cute as she did in the movie. She reads with so much expression, and it's really fun to listen to the E.T. story from kid sister Gertie's perspective. Children will love this CD because a child is narrating instead of an adult, and the story is fun to read and listen to. Everyone else will love how cute Drew sounds and how wonderfully she tells the story!
