McGowan's idiot-prof instructions proved themselves when me and some friends built this dinosaur in 7th grade. Although I am an avid model builder this was the first time I hade built a model made of things other than plastic. Surprizingly the chicken bones were easy to work with. We finished the model in about two months(working only one day a week). So if your looking to build an unusual model but this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars T-Rex Lovers Project, May 4, 2011

This book is awesome if you are very into dinosaurs and want to know how to assemble a skeleton. My son loved this book. He wants to be a paleontologist and this was a great way for him to learn about dinosaur bones. It is time consuming. You have to plan out assembling this dinosaur. You need to have all of your supplies in order and give time to prepare the bones. I would save this project for kids that are a little older-5th grade on up. It's a little too in depth for a younger child.Do not expect to have this project assembled in a weekend. It requires patience. But you will have a one of a kind dinosaur. You get recipes for chicken in the back of this book.
