This review is from: E.T. Storybook Green (Hardcover)
We bought this for our children when it first came out, and spent many happy hours reading it to our kids and exploring the pictures. We were always impressed with the gentle amusing and ecological tone of the book, penned by the amazing William Kotzwinkle, the artwork by David Wiesner is just perfect and addresses all those things children find loveable. The original book had long since disappeared into a charity sale as the kids grew up and discovered more exciting things to occupy their time. Now our children have presented us with grandchildren we wanted to explore the art and the green message with them too and our grown up kids wanted to re-discover it. Memory seems to be faulty as i remember more artwork and a larger format, but this will be great to introduce the grandchildren into a world a magic. For many years we called our rampaging children 'flopgloples' and 'jumpums' now we have a new generation to introduce to ET and the Green Planet. The book arrived on time, in perfect new condition. There is another book we are looking for, its about a young girl who has visions of North American natives in her garden, we remember the wonderful message and artwork but we cant think of the name, if anyone out there is reading this and knows what it was called and where we can find it, we would be most grateful! |
