4.0 out of 5 stars T.O. Review, September 19, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: T.O. (Hardcover)
Recently I read the book TO by Terrell Owens with Jason Rosenhaus. The book is written by Terrell Owens, otherwise known as "TO", to tell the media his side of the conflict between him and the Philadelphia Eagles organization. It all starts when Terrell and the team's quarterback Donovan McNab get in a minor dispute, but the two strong personalities go at it for the remainder of the season and manage to drag the head coach Andy Reid into it. The trouble only gets bigger when the media continues to accuse Terrell of different things like faking an injury, and starting a fight with a teammate. Things continue to plummet down when Terrell feels he deserves more money than he is making and the Eagles management disagree.
I thought the book was good, but may have been exaggerated a bit from what really happened. Terrell Owens obviously wrote this book to defend his case against the Eagles and you can tell by how he writes. Nevertheless I looked forward to reading this book every night before I went to bed. The book was intended for an audience of hardcore football fans who keep up with what's going on in the NFL. I specifically like the fact that it was about a sport that I enjoy to watch and follow, but I didn't like the fact that he wrote this book only to defend himself against the media.
This book can bring up very controversial sports topics, but it will most likely be enjoyed by many people who take the time to read it. Out of five stars I give it four stars because I always wanted to know what happened next and how he handled all of these conflicts surrounding him to just go out and do what he does best, play football.
Professional sports is a very hard thing to deal with and this book really give you an idea about what these athletes have to go through. I recommend this book for anyone interested in professional football.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Personal, Only Professional, October 9, 2006
This review is from: T.O. (Hardcover)
The best way to destroy sales is for the "author" to blast portions of the book.

In the follow-up to the commercially successful Catch This!, Terrell Owens has said there are erroneous passages in T.O. Because of that comment, it brings into question the validity of the entire book.

Love him or hate him, Owens is a pop culture phenomenon and that may be why Simon & Schuster rushed to print a second autobiography. I can only guess that Owens was not happy with the project and decided to tank sales by ripping the finished product.

Within the proper context I am sure Owens has a ton of interesting things to say. The line of children's books slated for release may be the venue for Owens to make a positive and lasting impression with fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Informative, January 27, 2007
This review is from: T.O. (Hardcover)
This book was very informative. In his book TO explains how the media edits anything he says. In some parts he tends to say the same thing multiple times, but overall it's an easy read.

Read this book with an open mind. Otherwise, don't bother in reading.
