I purchased this iron to replace a B&D model that I had used happily for 6+ years until it stopped working. I looked specifically for an iron that would do vertical steam, as that is how I care for a lot of my shirts. I used this iron for the first couple weeks along my sewing work, so for only a few minutes at a time, and it seemed fine. However, when I used it to iron a basketful of clothes (about 1-2 hours worth of ironing) it was a terrible dissapointment. I could not get the vertical steam to work more than 10% of the time, and then it was finicky. I held it horizontally as the directions state, even then could only get 1-2 very weak bursts (puffs) of vertical steam. Also the steam button is very difficult to push both horizontally and vertically, so much so that I stopped using the burst of steam function (which I like to use a lot). My arm and thumb are very sore & tired from using this iron, which never happened with my previous B&D iron.

When I received it, the box was damaged, and some of the stickers on the iron look, well, less than new. I wonder if this was a return, refurbish or damaged in storage/shipping. I will likely freecyle this and buy another B&D.

Pros: Light and it's really gliding when you are ironing

Cons: It doesn't do it's job at all. Even if i turned up to the max heat setting, I can't even get the shirt iron properly. There were still lines after a few irons, even with steam. I returned the product eventually and got black & decker, which works so much better although it's heavier.

Got this iron for Christmas within a month it was leaking water every time I used it. The water just leaks from the bottom and the sides, I have not dropped it or done any damage but am tempted to throw it across the room everytime I use it.

Just received my iron and plugged it in to try it out and in about 2 minutes time water was everywhere the base of the iron poured water out so fast I was afraid I might get shocked. I put it back in the box with a return label and drove straight to the post office. Better luck next time I guess.

I purchased this T-fal iron as a gift for my daughter.
What a disappoinment. The darn thing leaks all over the place. She only used it once and unfortunately she had thrown out the box and is not able to return it. It's a piece of JUNK. What a waste of money this is.

I bought this iron based on the reviews here. Mine may have been defective, but at the highest steam setting, even at the highest temperature, it leaks water through the soleplate holes.

I had a TFal 1749 and loved it , but it fell and I put a hole in the water compartment, the 1749 and the 1759 are slim lined, this other on that I'm giving a review on T-fal FV3266003 was big, bulky, awkward and uncomfortable, and the spray button on top was so hard to press down, it was like a very hard trigger spray on a spray bottle, I used that iron once and put in the store room and went and got a TFal#1759 , I hate ironing as it is so I'm not killing myself with an iron that tortures me....
