I've worn many watches over the years, and I've learned that the good ones draw little attention to themselves. It's easy to think that quality is of little importance once you're spoiled by good watches. A few years ago, I replaced an Omega with a Citizen, having decided that the extra money spent on a quality watch was unjustified.

That watch (a $300 Citizen) had deep scratches in the chrystal within the first week, had water issues the first time I went in the ocean, and generaly was more trouble than it was worth. The bad experience was enough for me to go without a watch for three years, using my cell phone instead. I decided if I couldn't set aside the money for a good watch, I'd rather wear nothing.

Three months ago, I bought a Tag Huer F1 digital. I like the digital readout in the face. It has a countdown timer, a 2nd time zone read out, a stopwatch, an alarm (not mentioned as a feature on the Tag site), a date/second readout[13 ss], a day/date readout [FRI 13], and the option to display a plain black face.

What would I change? I'd add a backlight to the lcd for the dark. The luminous hands aren't all that bright. Other than that, nothing.

I'm hard on my watches, beleive they should be worn and enjoyed rather than protected. Even though I wore it working in the garage, where it got a banged around a bit, the Tag's chrystal is clear as the day I pulled it from the box. I went in the ocean the other day and had no issues, and have forgotten I was wearing it more than once. What can I say? Like any quality watch, it requires little attention... it just works.

I have used this watch daily over the past 6 months plus. Would I buy it again? The short answer is yes, but there are a few minor irritations I would point out. First, the clasp on the factor metal band is too difficult to open and close for daily use. I fixed mine easily but it is still not ideal. A better clasp mechanism would be nice. Second, you turn the crown to change modes, settings, etc. A slow turn for minor changes and a fast turn for major changes. I find that just wearing the watch causes the crown to turn enough to change display modes which is aggravating if you want to leave it on a particular mode. This crown adjustment has also become more sensitive with time making it cumbersome to use sometimes. Lastly, I miss the second hand and the glow-in-the-dark hands do not shine very bright (TAG take a lesson from Luminox) but this watch was more than $1000 cheaper than the Kirium so still a good deal.

I was originally focused on another Tag model and saw this watch in a store. It had all the functions that I was looking for from perpetual date, timer and chronograph. The watch is also a nice size at 41mm and looks extremely sharp. This can be worn with a suit or casually.
It took me a while to figure out how all the functions work. Got a great price from Amazon and shipping was extremely quick.
Highly recommended.

ORdered this TAG for daily use when travelling with the included alarm and larger digital readouts. The date/time is hard to read and poorly lit at night, the watch is typical TAG quality and build, but the electronics complicate it more than I like. Is it a good watch- yes. Would I buy it again-no.

I've had this watch for probably 4 years now. It's a great watch, very good good looking and easy to read the time. I like the digital day and date because they are easier to read than the typical tiny window date in other watches. My other Tag diving watch that I've had for almost 20 years is still going strong. I bought this one just for a change of pace. The only negative with this watch is that in normal wearing the crown occasionally tends to turn with arm movements and thus changes the date setting to something else, like digital time, timer, etc. But that is not a big deal since you can quickly change it back in a quick twist of the crown. No scratches on the crystal, no scratches on the band so far. The band is solid links and heavy. Very nice and comfortable on the arm. Can be worn with sports clothing or with a suit. Elegant and practical too.

I purchased this watch about 2 years ago, and found it to be a great purchase. I was very impressed with the watch. I knew I wanted a Tag and once I saw this one I had to have it. Although I did pay a little bit more for it than a typical F1, it was well worth the money. I am a scuba diver and it makes for an excellent dive watch. It did great at the depths at which I dove at (50-70 ft.) and has provided me with a durable, reliable piece of art for everyday use. The Tag Heuer Chromotimer watch is a great investment and I would truly recommend this watch. If I had to give any issues, they would simply be that the crown at times will turn by simple motion of the hand and change the LCD display feature, but not a big deal at all. All in all--great watch that keeps excellent time and the typical quality you expect from a high-end brand as Tag Heuer...

I just recieved my brand new Tag heuer and it's amazing! like others TH watches, but it didn't come with International Warranty Card, so I can't go outside USA cause if my watch get damage I can't do anything with it. The bad news is that in fact I did not live at USA, so I have to pray so much...

PD: that's my 2nd Tag Heuer Watch and NEVER HAVE happen anything about it's quality, even I do live beside the sea.

The only issue that I've had with this watch is that the face seems to scratch fairly easy. The other two watches I have worn out here (Citizen Eco-Drive Divers and Hamilton Titanium Frogman) have not had this issue out in dusty and sandy Kuwait.

The stopwatch function has come in handy on multiple occasions. I also like the fact that you can switch the digital display off.

I'll probably end up having a jeweler replace the crystal or see if he can fix the scratches.

When i bought this watch , having in mind what tag heuer stand for...racing, chronographs... i have to tell you that this watch has not a back lite, very usefull tool, in low light you wont see anynthing!, it can only mesure 1 hour 59 min and 59 sec and 99 after that it will mesure 23 hour min and second BUT NOT "centecimals", if you want a complete swiss made watch elegant that can do this and more with back lite and everything needed go after Accutron telluride, or eco drive promaster by citizen !

this is the first time that im going to give to my favorite watch brand 3 stars, very, very dissapointed at tag heuer, and this particular watch.
