I bought this watch for my husband. He loved the watch, it looked great and had all the features he wanted. However, the analog and digital displays lost synchrony several times withing the first 30 days. It appeared from the instruction manual that the battery was fine so we sought to have the watch looked at. The Amazon 3rd party warranty was useless per them as it had not yet been 30 days since buying the item. So we tried to return it to Amazon for a refund. That process took since the end of May until the middle of July 2009 to complete. It took at least 60 hours on the phone, many reassurances that the watch could be returned, followed by many denials, and then finally a refund, minus a $200+ restocking fee. All the while it is impossible to talk with someone who can do anything about the process. The Jewelry department it separate and you cannot talk with them directly. There was a lot of run around and and frustration. After many more hours and several incorrect refunds, we finally have a correct refund completed. Use caution when buying expensive items you may need help with, we did not expect this type of problem with Amazon.

I was reluctant at first to order an expensive item from amazon not knowing if it was authentic. Sure enough it is genuine with original packaging, manual and Tag Heuer serial numbers. The only thing missing is the Tag Heuer 2 year warranty, which amazon provided their own 2 year warranty that blankets Tag's version, but only for US purchases. This is due to Amazon not being an authorized Tag Heuer dealer. You get the same watch if you were to purchase it at your local Tag Heuer authorized jeweler, but with the $2300.00 price tag, which retails for approx. $2800.00, less the world wide 2 year warranty from Tag Heuer. Fine with me, I saved a whopping 62% off the retail!! It looks great, has a heavy-solid feel to it, quality built, it combines analog with digital features (water resistant up to 984 ft, alarm, dual time zone, calendar, timer, chronometer, military time, diary alarm, date and option to save battery mode. I'm very pleased with my purchase. They provided free 2-4 day shipping and no taxes added. I opted for the overnight shipment price of $17.49. You will not find a lower price for this watch anywhere on the web from a reputable online store, it beats Ebay prices. I had the band resized at my local jeweler and they told me that the watch band alone is $[...] and confirmed that my Tag Heuer Aquaracer Chronotimer is authentic. I recommend looking at the watch at your local dealer first then ordering it online with amazon due to their 20% restocking fees. For that matter, any high end watch brand and then compare the prices at amazon. Amazon exceeded my expectations and I definately recommend this Tag Heuer Aquaracer Chronotimer with digital features. I am very frustrated that I received this watch and the hour hand is totally misaligned. For example... when it is noon, the minute hand points to "12" position while hour hand is situated between "12" and "1". The situation repeats itself for any of the other positions. I checked the manual and Internet but was unable to figure out how to fix it. Also, please be aware that such items as an expensive Tag Heuer acquired from Amazon do not come with the International Card warranty so you cannot take it for repair in one of the authorized dealers. After all, I believe that Amazon should make it very clear that the watches they sell do not carry manufactures warranty, but only Amazon warranty.

I received it from a couple of days, very useful functions especially the second time zone and its settings are very logical, so you do not need to have a second or third look at the manual.

It is a little bit heavy, but who cares!

Beware if you remove the pins not to scratch it, as I did :(

In my opinion, this is one of the best multi-function analog/digital watches for the price. I managed to pick one up during a low, low point in it's price cycle, but even at the current ~50% off list price, it's a great deal. Case and bracelet are up to TAG's usual high standards, and the watch functions very well. It uses the "spin the crown" mode to change functions. So the buttons are only for start/stop/set/reset options of each function.

It includes all the common functions, 2 time zones, date (with week # which I find useful), alarm, stop-watch and count-down timer. And, of course, you can completely turn off the digital functions.

Overall, very well done. Nicely built. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a nice looking analog watch with a multi-function digital add on.

My wife purchased this watch through Amazon.com as a 25th Anniversary wedding present. In summary, I think this watch is great. I had some concerns based on some of the other reviews as to aligning the digital and analog displays, but afer reading the instruction book a few times, I was able to sync the watch. The instructions are intense, but very clear. Setting the watch differs a little from watches I'm more familiar with, but again, very do-able. The watch looks and feels great!!!! I'm not as concerned with the warrentee (crossing fingers) as this Tag should not be considered on the same level as a $100 watch, which might need servicing.

I was a shade reluctant to buy this watch. Most high end companies do not delve into the digital world as the words "digital watch" are rarely mentioned in the same breath as "luxury timepiece". I was skeptical, but couldn't pass on a Tag Heuer at that price. I was amazed at the beautiful watch I received.

The integration of the digital with the analog is phenomenal. As you set/change the digital time, the watch movement changes along with it. I have read every complaint listed here and (keeping in mind that they are few) they could have been easily resolved by reading the instructions.

Accuracy: I immediately synchronized the watch according to time.gov and 20 days later it is still accurate TO THE SECOND.

Appearance: The digital mode cycles include a blank mode, which gives the watch a more dressy appearance without the busy digital look.

When the backlight is on, the second hand freezes in place. After six seconds of inactivity, the backlight turns off, and the second hand quickly updates to it's proper place. This is handy for no other purpose (that I can see) than to demonstrate the sophistication of the digital/analog integration and thus showing the few who might think this watch a fake just how complex and worthy of the Tag Heuer name the watch is (as mentioned above, seeing a Tag Heuer with digital features would raise the "faux flag" of anyone familiar with luxury timepieces).

Cons:
No lefty model at a good price. I feel like filing a civil rights claim.

In the dark, the backlight feature does not illuminate the hands of the watch effectively. The backlight illuminates the digital display quite well so I find it helpful to cycle to the digital time mode before it gets dark as this solves the problem of checking the time during the night.

The crown is turned to cycle through the digital cycles. it is sometimes a bit finicky about whether it will cycle. I would imagine most of this is due to my being left handed and having to reach across the watch to turn the crown.


Overall I am VERY satisfied with the watch. Even with the cons I still give it a 5 star rating as my beefs are mainly due to my left-handedness. As for not seeing the hands with the backlight...remember it is a luxury piece. If you can find another high end watch that you can read in the dark I would like to hear about it.

This watch is the best of three worlds: you get useful digital functions, you get luxury appeal, you get a great price.

II'm very happy with my new watch. Only thing I want to say, in addition to the aspect earlier mentioned in a review or two that the digial numbers can be hard to read sometimes, is that the watch is fairly big and heavy. I wear my watch 24/7 and is hoping that it won't get a problem for me. Overall I'm very satisfied till now after wearing it for a few days.

Had this watch for a few yrs- keep checking back to see if they'll update anything
my BIGGEST gripe- the hands are too small/narrow, and difficult to see in most conditions. IMHO, if i have to adjust my wrist to accurately see the hands, that's a BIG problem-
Could be easily remedied- "broad arrow" adaptation, like the Omegas.
My minor gripe is the alarm/timer fxn alarms are rather "soft/quiet".
I'm a physician, and when working all nite, i often rely on my wristwatch for an alarm clock.

I really like this watch. I bought it from amazon. Since it arrived I have worn it everyday since. There are zero drawbacks to this watch. It has a great solid feel and many great functions. I have heard people complain that the rotating pin changes the mode while wearing it. My answer is that if you wear the watch improperly (very close to your hand) and not on your wrist, then yes, this may happen. As for those who have trouble reading the display, well, I don't understand this. The display is great, very sleek and easy to read. If you are contemplating the purchase of this watch, buy it, before they no longer sell it. It was discontinued in 2008.
