Amazon.com Product Description

Designed with professional divers in mind, the Aquaracer Automatic (model CAF2012.BA0815) from TAG Heuer combines state-of-the-art timekeeping technology with sporty, prestige styling. Equipped with calibre 16 automatic movement, this watch winds itself with the natural motion of your wrist and does not require a battery. It features a round blue dial with luminescent hands and markers, a monochrome TAG Heuer logo, and day-and-date calendar at the three o'clock position. Three subdials display 1/10 second, small seconds, and 30-minute registers. A stationary inner bezel, with a seconds ruler, frames the dial, surrounded by a unidirectional rotating outer bezel with a dive time scale and a luminous marker. Set in a 46mm (1.81-inch) brushed steel case that fits comfortably to the contours of your wrist, this watch presents on a handsome and durable steel link bracelet with brushed and polished pieces. The bracelet features an extension system for divers and fastens with a double safety clasp. Other notable features of this watch include a highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a screw-down crown and caseback for water resistance to 300 meters.

The TAG Heuer Story

TAG Heuer traces its roots to the small Swiss village of St-Imier where, in 1860, a watchmaker named Edouard Heuer opened his first shop. His vision was to create remarkable timepieces that pushed the envelope of innovation and precision. The company's reputation grew, and Heuer's first patent for a chronograph mechanism in 1882 was followed by a long list of achievements: the first stopwatch accurate to 1/100 of a second, the first dashboard stopwatch for race cars, the first miniature electronic timekeeping device accurate to 1/1000th of a second, and the first automatic movement with a microrotor, to name just a few.

Over the years, Heuer's reputation for gold-standard precision earned the company the privilege of providing official timing services for a number of world-class competitive sporting events, including the Olympic Games, the FIS Ski World Cup, and the FIA Formula 1 World Championships. To this day, TAG Heuer maintains a close association with the world of competitive sports and enjoys a devoted following among sports celebrities and enthusiasts. In 1985, Heuer joined the TAG (Techniques D'Avant-Garde) group, and the TAG Heuer name and logo were created. Now one of the most recognized and sought-after watch brands in the world, TAG Heuer continues its reputation of innovative design and technological excellence, creating prestigious timepieces that are always at the cutting edge of precision, reliability and style.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best watch I have ever owned, January 12, 2011
By
cowboy00242 "weekend warrior" (Baltimore, MD, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: TAG Heuer Men's CAF2012.BA0815 Aquaracer Automatic Chronograph Stainless Steel Watch (Watch)
The Aquaracer I own is just like this one, only with a blue face instead of black and without the "day of the week" indicator, and have never had a single technical issue with it during the 5+ years I have owned it, wearing it daily and only removing it when I sleep. It has endured some serious beatings, having been worn during scuba diving, mountain biking, car repair and a million other activities that saw the watch get hit or slammed or scratched or electrified (seriously). It now carries with it some cosmetic flaws, but only in the form of some small scratches on the metal areas of the face and body, but the bezel (sapphire) is still flawless. Continues to keep accurate time, although it does lose about 5 minutes over the course of about 2 months... which I consider to be acceptable for an analog watch without digital innards. I just reset the time when I have to reset the calendar, which works out just about right.

Prior to this watch, I would go through about 1 or 2 watches a year, with them falling victim to various misadventures. My uncle had a TAG for years, and I finally bit the bullet and bought one. I consider this watch to be one of the best purchases I ever made, and plan to wear it for many years to come. I would buy this watch again, for certain.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Tank Heuer" it is a Tank, December 19, 2011
This review is from: TAG Heuer Men's CAF2012.BA0815 Aquaracer Automatic Chronograph Stainless Steel Watch (Watch)
Due to a short period of time that I had the chance to buy and sale watches, I have had the opportunity to wear and own different brands of watches , including Omega,Rolex,Tissot,Longines,Cartier and Tag Heuer, but this is the first time I own an aquaracer. and it's just a piece of art, feels like a tank on your hand, you can feel the balance rotor powering up the 25 jewels movements when you twist your wrist.
and the look is just awesome. kind of big though, but masculine, sporty with classic elegance.

It may not be chronometer certified but so far, mine has an accuracy of +-4 seconds a day which is the required accuracy to certify a chronometer. it's a ETA Valjoux modified by Tag Heuer to get the famous caliber 16, which means is not just a regular valjoux and I think that is the reason of the accuracy.

I definetely recomended if you can afford it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The beast of Tag Heuer Watches., July 7, 2011
This review is from: TAG Heuer Men's CAF2012.BA0815 Aquaracer Automatic Chronograph Stainless Steel Watch (Watch)
This watch is really a beast, it is a very well constructed watch and also nice looking. Please keep in mind that this watch is heavy and chunky. One of the best looking Tag Heuer watches which also carries the popular and reliable Valjoux 7750 engine. Time keeping is very good and the blue bezel draws a lot of attention. It sits confortable in the wrist if you like heavy watches. I am very happy with the watch.
