TAG Heuer Men's WAF1110.FT8009 2000 Aquaracer Quartz Watch

I waited until I was 46 to buy my first high end watch - and I took my time looking around. I have a narrow wrist - and most men's watches look and feel huge. My preference is a dive watch with a rubber band - but again it had to be under 40mm diameter and not too thick - which rules out most automatic movement models, (although I do think they are very desirable.)

So I started looking - used, new, in stores, online, etc. I tried on a Tag Heuer Aquaracer 2000 at my local Jeweler and found the perfect watch for me. Instead of the $1200 the jeweler wanted I bought the silver-faced model from Amazon for $770. I thought I'd spend $1000-$1500 so I was thrilled.

I teach film and video and sail so I abuse my watches. The Tag came through without a scratch. I liked it so much I bought the same model w/ black face a month later. They are the perfect watches for me - the silver face with a slightly more dressy look - and the black face is classic. I'm not looking to impress anyone - so the Aquaracer's understated design works for me.

I just purchased mines from a local retailer and it was retailed at $1400, but then after some haggling the salesman offered me $250 off. Still not as cheap as Amazon, but it came with the Tag 3 year warranty and you have a lifetime battery replacement program at any authorized Tag service center. I contemplated buying it for less here, but they don't recommend that you change the batteries yourself or at a watch shop. Every Tag repair center will perform a pressure test after replacing the batteries to ensure that your watch is correctly sealed. I figure the extra price gives me peace of mind especially since the authorized service centers require that you have your certificate of authenticity, which Amazon does not provide. Once the 2 year Amazon warranty runs out, any battery and pressure test service will cost you additional money. With tax and all, I ended up a good amount above the Amazon cost, but still not MSRP. These watches are tough and will last you a long time. Buying it from Amazon, you can use the money you save on something else, but I like knowing that I can walk into any authorized shop if anything goes wrong.

The Tag Aquaracer is a quality timepiece worth the money. It will get many compliments, as mine has and it keeps perfect time. I highly recommend it and my experience with Amazon has been truly pleasurable.

I have been keeping my eye out for a luxury watch, so when Amazon was offering 20% off on TAG Heuer, I finally pulled the trigger. Anybody who knows watches knows the TAG name and this watch is a good way to get in on the basic level. I prefer my watches without the extra chronograph dials and other clutter on the watch face, so the Aquaracer was perfect for me. It was delivered in a fancy black TAG box with the proper documentation and warranty information. I've been an Amazon Prime customer for about 5 years now so I wasn't scared off by the fact that the warranty gets fulfilled through Amazon. This is an authentic high-end watch and I would be very surprised if something broke with it. The serial number and watch model is laser etched on the watch back along with a cool looking diver helmet. I really like the classic appearance of the black band with the black watchface, and the scratch resistant sapphire was a big pro for me too. Why pay $800 for a watch that scratches easily? I have worn this everyday for about two weeks and there is not a blemish on it.
One cool feature of the watch is the luminessence of the watch hands which make reading the time easy in any lighting. The screw in bezel took some time getting used to for me, but it is nice to know that it is fully waterproof. The watch has some decent weight which to me made it feel like I got my money's worth. I own a Bulova watch which is nice but there is a reason the TAG Heuer is 8x more expensive.
All in all, this watch is an excellent way to enter the luxury watch market without breaking the bank. If you prefer to buy a TAG at a brick and mortar retailer for the warranty, be prepared to pay the price difference, but the watch will not be any better than the one offered through Amazon.

This watch is the perfect marriage of "classy" and "sporty". I bought the metal bracelet version of this watch (WAF1110.BA0800) for work about a week before purchasing this one. I was so impressed by the quality and detail of the other watch that I knew I had to eventually buy the "casual" version. Thus, when price fell to below half price on Amazon.com, I quickly pulled the trigger again.

The silver hour marks, including the "12" at the top, are raised on the dial and the hands are clean and elegant. The black dial is sleek and allows for easy reading of the time. I can't understand why anyone would want to try to read the time on a white or silver face with silver hands. I love the color Tag Heuer logo - something Tag should have kept on their new watches.

Not only can you see the Tag quality, you can also feel it. The watch has some heft to it, which I was not used to at first. Now that I've gotten use to the weight, my older watches (both Swiss Army) feel kind of puny. The black rubber strap is soft and flexible and goes well with the black face. The watch is very comfortable to wear.

The only minor negative attribute is that the second hand does not perfectly align with the hash marks all the way around the dial. It is aligned for about 30 seconds and then off by 10-25% for the other 30 seconds. However, from what I've read, this is typical for watches with quartz movement and not a big deal.

Overall, I could not be happier with this purchase. I am very lucky to have to bought it at such a low price. This watch is worth every penny. If you can afford it, this beautiful timepiece which will undoubtedly last you decades and garner many compliments.

I want a simple, nice looking, durable watch that I can use for all my outdoor activities. I found the perfect watch for me.

My first foray into the high end watch category. Love the look and the quality of the watch itself. The luminous hands and markers are the best I have ever seen and work very well at night. I also love that this watch is very narrow in depth. I am somewhat concerned about the band. While it is very light and comfortable, I worry about the durability. The rubber "buckles" that the excess strap fits under are also very thin. These have broken on similar watches I have worn in the past. The cost of the replacement band is quite high and I do worry about having to replace the band rather quickly. Time will tell. Would not have paid retail for this watch, but the Amazon price made it much more appealing.

I purchased this watch after seeing it in a store and then searching online for the best price. Amazon had the best price and I received the package in only a few days.

This watch looks great. I've only had it for a week or so, but I'm sure it will get me laid within a few months. It is quartz so its relatively thin and not bulky (sleek, I guess).

I had two concerns buying this watch. 1) that its real and 2) the warranty.

After doing some research, any watches sold by Amazon directly are good and you don't have to worry about them being fake, although I still may stop buy a local retailer to get an opinion. Secondly and just as important, Amazon's Watch Warranty is just about as good as Tag's warranty so thats a nice comfort.
