Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: TAG Heuer Men's WAF1112.FT8009 Aquaracer Watch (Watch)
I waited until I was 46 to buy my first high end watch - and I took my time looking around. I have a narrow wrist - and most men's watches look and feel huge. My preference is a dive watch with a rubber band - but again it had to be under 40mm diameter and not too thick - which rules out most automatic movement models, (although I do think they are very desirable.

So I started looking - used, new, in stores, online, etc. I tried on a Tag Heuer Aquaracer 2000 at my local Jeweler and found the perfect watch for me. Instead of the $1200 the jeweler wanted I bought the silver-faced model from Amazon for $770. I thought I'd spend $1000-$1500 so I was thrilled.

I teach film and video and sail so I abuse my watches. The Tag came through without a scratch. I liked it so much I bought the same model w/ black face a month later. They are the perfect watches for me - the silver face with a slightly more dressy look - and the black face is classic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great watch and saved big $$$, April 17, 2009

I tried this very watch on at the local Jeweler - but for $1200 I looked for a better deal - and AMAZON delivered. I wanted a subtle everyday watch that was rugged enough to hold up - and being a sailor HAD to be waterproof - and the TAG silver faced AquaRacer fit the bill. I really liked the dark faced versions of this watch (black & blue) - but you see them everywhere and the silver face to me is more low key and unique - and was a few bucks less! I like a rubber band so the metal band version was not an option for me - again saving $$$. The only thing is that the TAG international 2 year warranty card does NOT come w/ the watch - you have a 2 year warranty from Amazon instead.
