This is NOT an automatic watch, it has a mechanical hand-wound movement. The watch does not wind as you wear it (wrist movement acting on a rotor), but rather the owner must wind the watch manually using the crown. The watch has a 40 hour power reserve. If you wear the watch everyday then an automatic movement will be more convenient, but if, like me, you have it in a rotation and do not want to use a watch-winder, then it makes little difference.
Second, the watch is listed by Tag Heuer in the materials that come with it as water resistant to 50 meters, not 100 meters. Now if water resistance ratings were tested for diving applications then it would make no real difference in a non-diving watch, but those ratings, like all WR ratings, must be taken with a grain of salt. I have a dive watch rated at 200 meters that I would never take that deep (even if I could), but that I am very comfortable wearing to swim. I am NOT comfortable wearing my Tag Heuer Monaco (rather at 30 meters) to swim, but am comfortable wearing it in the shower. Ditto the 50 meter Calibre 1, which I will wear in the shower (with rubber strap attached), but not in the swimming pool.
Specification errors (no fault of Tag Heuer's) aside, this is a gorgeous watch that has quickly become one of my favorites (out of nine watches). I wear this, in fact, more than any other watch.
