Dynamic, sporty styling and reliable precision make the Aquaracer WAF1417.BA08012 the perfect watch for all of your water sport adventures. The elegant light blue mother-of-pearl dial has a clean, uncluttered look and features three-hand function, a tonal TAG Heuer logo, and an automatic date calendar at the three o'clock position. Highly polished hands and hour markers, coated with a luminescent material, provide optimal radiance and readability. Framing the dial is a unidirectional rotating bezel with engraved dive time markers, for safe timing of dives and other limited events. The watch is set in a 27 mm brushed steel case and presents on an elegant and durable brushed steel link bracelet with polished center links. The bracelet fastens with a double safety clasp and features an extension system that allows it to be worn over a diving suit. Other notable features of this watch include a highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a screw-down crown and caseback for water resistance to 300 meters.
The TAG Heuer Story
TAG Heuer traces its roots to the small Swiss village of St-Imier where, in 1860, a watchmaker named Edouard Heuer opened his first shop. I went to Tourneau to see the watch, as Macy's didn't have it in stock. I like the blue better than pink, which can look more salmon colored with different light/angles. The the blue mother of pearl varies from light blue to grey and is lightly textured, so you catch some rainbows. The one in the store had a very smooth face. The perfectly sized watch definitely was not as shiny and "bling-y" under normal light as in the stores (one of my initial worries). I had the band adjusted at local small Tag dealer for $10, he just asked if it was a Xmas gift, maybe he knows I bought it online/Amazon?
One thing a little off, the second hand doesn't quite line up. The date and Tag brand logo (in thin black) are a little small, but so far I love it for $880 (vs $1500, I decided it was worth the risk since no one wrote anything truly negative in the discussion boards). I hope to remember to update to say the watch is still going great.
Took it swimming today (day2) and loving it!

I purchased this watch for my wife. She needed an everyday watch, but I wanted to give her something that was elegant as well, otherwise a simple drugstore $10 throw-away would have sufficed. This watch was great. She has small wrists, so the dial itself was the perfect size. The bezel is also practical, pretty but not an obnoxious huge divers watch. One word of caution, the blue mother of pearl, although pretty, will have some natural variation. On my wife's watch, it looked like there was a "spot" in the middle. I realized it was just the natural appearance of the dial. One disadvantage to not buying it in brick and mortar, is that you can't pick and choose the background you like the most. Still, a great deal and very pretty. Also, note you do not have TAG Heuer's manufacturers guarantee because it's not sold from an authorized retailer. Still, Amazon itself gives its own warranty. So far, it's well constructed and haven't had a need to turn it in (hopefully never!)

I don't know how you couldn't love this watch! I bought this as an early milestone birthday present for myself. It's a great, everyday watch. Timeless, not trendy, and the price on Amazon is excellent!!! I wear it every day, and love it. The only complaint I could have is that sometimes the mother-of-pearl dial can be tough to see in some light, but that's a very minor concern. It's a great watch, and I know I'll be wearing it for many, many years to come.
