i bought this for my husband who has alzheimers. he always loved to work with wood and always used brass hinges and latches on all his work so this is wonderful for him to fiddle with. great for 2 to 5 year olds too to teach them how to open and close things.

The craftsmanship on this lock box is exceptional. My children, 2 and 6, both love playing with this, opening the locks and doors, hiding things in it, and using it in imaginative play as a jail, apartment house, etc.

We got this to help with my ASD son's coordination and fine motor skill issues. It worked wonders, and all 3 of my sons have used, abused and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I do need to mention, that my 3 year old (at the time) was carrying it around, and tripped and fell ONTO it, getting a cut on the bridge of his nose!!! (from one of the locks) He is now 4 1/2, and still has a scar!
I love the toy, I really do, but it still upsets me that this happened! It is a useful, and very constructive toy, but exercise caution when letting young ones use it!
