4.0 out of 5 stars pricey gadget, but reliable March 11, 2012

My boyfriend and I will be going on a vacation to Cancun over Easter and we look forward to some amazing snorkeling there! We decided to purchase the TAT7 case for use during our time out there. It arrived via FedEx within 5 days. We tested it in our local swimming pool and the pictures were beautiful (iPhone camera). It was quick to put together and if you are an iPhone user, camera app was straight forward. The wrist strap is attractive but my boyfriend James found it slightly short. Overall, solid build, slightly pricey, definitely reliable!

2.0 out of 5 stars Maybe the 4th time will be a charm... June 2, 2012

Case#1 I received my first TAT7 Case about two months ago. I did as the instructions said and tested it in the sink and then tested it during a dive without my phone in it. It kept the water out so time to try with my phone in it. Well like several other have posted, I could not take pictures or start/stop video once I got deeper than about 9 ft. It seems that the buttons get very stiff and I couldn't push them down hard enough to make contact with the screen. I did manage to get several videos but the problem is that i have to start the video at the surface and the only way to stop it is to hit the home button. So when I wrote the company an email explaining the situation and within 24 hours they contacted me, apologized for the inconvenience, and told me they were sending a replacement immediately. I received the replacement case a few days later.

Case#2 Went through the proper method of checking the case and went out on a dive to test it before putting my phone in it. Within 15 minutes of getting in the water and at an average depth of 35ft the case flooded. Water appeared to be entering the case through one of the buttons. I took a couple of pictures to email the company along with the explanation of what happened. Once again their great customer service replied the same day and once again apologized, and told me that they would send the pictures and the information about seepage through the buttons to the assemblers. I wasn't ready to give up on the case yet so I asked them to just send me a replacement and they did without hesitation. I received case number 3 a few days ago.

Case#3 I tried to convince myself that there was no way anything could go wrong with a third case, but in the end I didn't get what I hoped for. Took the case on a dive today and tested it without my phone of course. Within a minute of being in the water I watched drops of water flooding the case through the red button. Stinks.

Going to write TAT7 an email and see what they can for me next. Probably just going to go for a refund at this point. Good luck if you decide to get this case. Gotta say though, the TAT7 customer service people are top notch, just wish their product was the same.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unhappy - to problem solved May 8, 2012

I was very excited to get a case for iPhone that would work underwater for my upcomign vacation. When i got the product and tried it on my phone, I could not ever get the buttons to work out of the water. I was very disappointed with this product. The buttons do not line up very well with my iPhone 4 even though that is what it says it is made for.

Update - After complaining to custumer service about the case not working they sent me a new one at no cost to me. For whatever reason this case works perfectly on my phone. I am so glad I gave it a second shot!!! Great product. Although if you have the updated software where the camera slides up it does make it a little more difficult. You either have to set your phone to not sleep or you have to constantly be taking pictures. Either way it is a pretty simple fix.
