Very small, grounded unit with low to no noise susceptibility. Has done wonderfully for archiving. Conceals nicely behind my AV rack.

Gold plated plugs with all hookups uncluded. Also, very affordable.

I researched the other pre-amps in this price range, and sorely wanted not to have to deal with noise or any other irritation. I just wanted the turntable to work.

This unit did the job perfectly -- no noise, simple hook-up. It's not quite as cheap as the others in this range, but, trust me, it's worth it to have a unit that works the first time, flawlessly, right from the package.

Set up a Bose Wave Radio System for my folks, to include their turntable and cassette player. The Bose salesman suggested I may need a pre-amp between the turntable and the Wave System. He could not recommend a certain make or model. I'm really glad I did not let this discourage me in deciding to purchase the system. All it took was gong to Amazon and very easily ording the TC-400G/L Phono Pre-amp. This was very easy to set up, you just plug in the pre-amp between the turntable and the system using the included RCA jacks. Grounding is important but I did not have a ground connection on my turntable. I simply connected the ground wire (not included, so I bought a spool of ground wire) from the pre-amp to a screw underneath the turntable. My back up plan would have been to attach the ground wire to the ground inside of the outlet on the wall. There was no humming noise or any other interference as described in some other reviews. Don't let the $29.00 price fool you, this amp works well.

Got this for my mother-in-law so she could listen to her LPs again. With it I could connect her old but functional turntable to her Bose Wave Radio. Easy to set up- all needed cables are provided- and works fine for her. Not adequate if you want to rip albums- I could not figure out how to kill the hum. I hooked up all the grounding connections I could.

but my unit adds a lot of hum, even when grounded. I read the reviews on this before purchasing, which said it didn't add hum. Not the case with the one I received.

For the money, this is a decent preamp. Easy to set up, easy to use, and it'll make your record player audible. For me, however, it ended up not being at the quality that I had wanted. There was a small, constant hum and became more noticeable the higher the volume setting. I tried to let it warm up for two or three weeks and the problem still persisted. The reason I gave this three stars though is due to the fact that the company was really cool and quick about returning it. Was given a full and timely refund and they even wanted to try to work something out when I first contacted them about my problem with it. Even if the preamp isn't great, I would definitely do business with phonopreamps.com again based off of their customer service. In short, I got what I paid for but wasn't up to my standards. Would recommend this to someone who wants a quick startup for a good price, wouldn't recommend it for those who are looking for a higher end audio experience.

Got this so my mom could listen to her old records over her new stereo system. Super easy setup with directions. Like one other reviewer said, there is just a slight, almost imperceptible hum, but that might be coming from the old turntable, who knows. Works just fine for old records. After a little research, you'll realize this is the only real option if you're in the market for a pre-amp, so it's a no-brainer.

I bought this for my son so he could connect his turntable to his stereo, and so I could have my stereo receiver back. He says it needs a ground wire which it did not come with, now we have to start looking for one. Kind of frustrating.

The box doesn't say this has a ground terminal but upon opening it, it does in fact have a ground terminal! Works just like you would expect it to. Nothing fancy, so its easy to set up. Got it as a gift and the recipient loves it! Sounds great when I come over to listen to some records. No distortion or buzzing at all.

This is the third phono preamp I bought. The first two were DOA and returned. I got this unit because it seemed a bit nicer. It works well. No hum.
