Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

This 100 percent certified, recordable compact disc (CD-R) storage medium from TDK provides high-density storage and superior audio and data recording. Each disc records up to 650 MB of data or 74 minutes of audio. Certified for speeds up to 12x, these discs are compatible with all types and speeds of CD-R writers, CD-ROM drives, audio CD players, and DVD-ROM drives. Using TDK's exclusive hardhat protective coating, this highly durable CD-R also incorporates Isopure recording dye technology and reflex mirror tuning for higher sensitivity and reflectivity.

Since it is standard CD recording medium (CD-R), rather than rewritable (CD-RW), a disc may be used only once, although with the proper settings in supported software you can add to the disc in more than one recording session until it is full. (This is called multisession recording.) However, the disc cannot be erased and used again.

This package contains 50 discs, and each disc comes with a lifetime warranty.

From the Manufacturer

TDK CD-R Data discs are designed for use with computer-based burners. You can store any kind of data -- audio, video, multimedia, text files -- on a TDK CD-R Data disc. CD-R discs are write-once, meaning a CD-R can be fully recorded one time, but can't be erased or rerecorded. This is a 50-pack spindle of 12x CD-R discs.

Developed for ultimate performance, and manufactured to the most exacting standards, TDK CD-R/RW media is the ideal digital storage solution. TDK CD-R/RW media is available in Data and Music versions.

TDK is a world leader in advanced optical recording media with a full line of CD-R, CD-RW, and recordable/rewritable DVD discs. TDK discs utilize the company’s longstanding expertise in organic dye chemistry to provide unmatched performance and reliability, and undergo a rigorous testing procedure that ensures total compatibility, guaranteeing error-free writing and recording with all CD burners.

I've used these CDRs for a while and they have been great for me. I've never had any problems and all the cd's i burn turn out clean and clear. I reccomend this for anyone who wants inexpensive, quality blank CDR media.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality, reliable CD-R media, April 24, 2001

This review is from: TDK CD-R74MGAXCB-1 CD-R, 74 Minute, 650 MB, 12x (50-Pack Spindle) (Electronics)
I burn a lot of stuff, from data archives to mp3-ripped music. Though a lot of my data ends up on CD-RW's (I download the newest Linux .iso images as they come out, back up my system, etc and do it again the next week), whenever I permanently record something I prefer it be on TDK CD-Rs. Why? I have used TDK, Imation, Memorex, and generic CD-R's in the 3 years since I got a burner, and only the TDK and Imations have lasted without a single disk dying. I cannot vouch as forcefully for the Imations because I only have a few of them, but I have a lot of TDK's, and not one has failed me yet.

I just bought this exact spindle, and after burning half the disks, I can say the TDK experience hasn't changed, and I expect the same life out of these that I've gotten out of countless TDK's in the past. Want your burns to last? Use TDK.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware - these may be now Ritek, February 11, 2001

TDK CDRs made in Japan by TDK are very high quality, however the last shipment of the TDK 50 pack I received are Taiwanese Ritek made, which have a very poor reputation. Before you purchase these CDRs be sure you are getting Japanese made CDRs!
