5.0 out of 5 stars Great media
I've used these CDRs for a while and they have been great for me. I've never had any problems and all the cd's i burn turn out clean and clear. I reccomend this for anyone who wants inexpensive, quality blank CDR media.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware - these may be now Ritek
TDK CDRs made in Japan by TDK are very high quality, however the last shipment of the TDK 50 pack I received are Taiwanese Ritek made, which have a very poor reputation. Before you purchase these CDRs be sure you are getting Japanese made CDRs!

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality, reliable CD-R media, April 24, 2001

I burn a lot of stuff, from data archives to mp3-ripped music. Though a lot of my data ends up on CD-RW's (I download the newest Linux .iso images as they come out, back up my system, etc and do it again the next week), whenever I permanently record something I prefer it be on TDK CD-Rs. Why? I have used TDK, Imation, Memorex, and generic CD-R's in the 3 years since I got a burner, and only the TDK and Imations have lasted without a single disk dying. I cannot vouch as forcefully for the Imations because I only have a few of them, but I have a lot of TDK's, and not one has failed me yet.

I just bought this exact spindle, and after burning half the disks, I can say the TDK experience hasn't changed, and I expect the same life out of these that I've gotten out of countless TDK's in the past. Want your burns to last? Use TDK.

These TDK's are among my favorites. They are my choice for "all-purpose" burning. (For archiving, I use KODAK GOLD ULTIMA blanks...)

The TDK's are a good value and I never have problems using them in my Plextor cd-burner at 12x-speed. And they play audio fine in both my home and car cd-players.

5.0 out of 5 stars These are the best!, March 15, 2001
This review is from: TDK CD-R74MGAXCB-1 CD-R, 74 Minute, 650 MB, 12x (50-Pack Spindle) (Electronics)
For some reason, my Gateway Burner and CD Creator software didn't work with Memorex or Prime CDRs. The only similarity I could find was that they were up to 16x compatible and the Imation and TDKs were up to 12x compatible. Don't know if that has anything to do with it but I didn't have one bad TDK or Imation CDR!

These TDK branded CDR's are made by Ritek. Don't be fooled, go try out another brand. These TDK's are not reliable because they are manufactured at a factory not known for high quality CDR's.

5.0 out of 5 stars CHEAP, SIMPLE, DEFECT FREE STORAGE ALL IN A THIN DISC, January 26, 2001
This review is from: TDK CD-R74MGAXCB-1 CD-R, 74 Minute, 650 MB, 12x (50-Pack Spindle) (Electronics)
I have a hewlett packard CD-writer plus 9100 series (most popular cd writer) and it just absolutly clicks with this type of CD. It stores up to 650MB (about two full version video games or about 200 MP3s) of things quickly on to this CD wheter has a sound or file CD this CD storage has worked perfecly completely without deflect (oldest is 2 years old and going strong). Not to mention me being accident prone this CD has survived a couple of scratches on it but still hasn't lost info along with its really cheap price to store so much info with this many number of CDs.

I have purchased two packages (100 cd's). No complain with the quality. Every single CD works! The only thing you may have to consider is buying the case for every cd you burnt!

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst CD-R I ever bought!, September 25, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: TDK CD-R74MGAXCB-1 CD-R, 74 Minute, 650 MB, 12x (50-Pack Spindle) (Electronics)
I bought 10 of TDK CD-R74 with jewel cases, they worked fine. But when I [got] the spindle pack , The TDK CD-Rs I...were lighter and thinner than the ones I bought previously.
I had 100% failure with these CD-Rs.

1.0 out of 5 stars TDK CD stack, July 5, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: TDK CD-R74MGAXCB-1 CD-R, 74 Minute, 650 MB, 12x (50-Pack Spindle) (Electronics)
When I could get the CDs to record the quality was good, but more than 25% of the stack of 50 would not record: "insert a CD with sufficient space" message, or no more than 2 cuts would record. Choose a different manufacturer!
