5.0 out of 5 stars My experience = ZERO error rate
I'm suprised at the earlier review which described problems with this product. I burn CDs like a madman and I have experienced an error rate of virtually zero. I use these for data as well as audio and in all cases these discs perform perfectly. I haven't found one with a manufacturing defect or anything like that. Plus this price cannot be beat.

Seriously,...

2.0 out of 5 stars Slow Burn
I too am experiencing the problems of the original post. I purchased the 48x TDK 50 disc spindle. I was sent a 52x 50-pack spindle. So far, no matter the speed about 5 of 25 have successfully burned. Using Nero. I use the much less lauded Verbatims I have that are over two years old, no problems. I do not know what to make of it. Previous to this purchase, I had nothing...

Seriously, I've gone through at least 1000 of these discs -- they're consistent and dependable.

I've used almost 400 TDK Brand CDRs and have yet to have any problems. No Errors, and the TDK CDR top is pretty resistant to scratches.

I have went through so many Cd-R blanks and finally found some with some good dye and have zero error burning rate. TDK is amazing. The first one i've burned i've now had for over a year and still no defects on the back of it. It's amazing.

4.0 out of 5 stars TDK works great, December 10, 2005
This review is from: TDK CD-R80CB50 700 MB/80-Minute 48x Data CD-R (50-Pack Spindle) (Electronics)
I have burned over 200 of these blanks with no troubles. Most important to me is the compatibility with all CD players, even older ones. TDK works perfectly, highly recommended versus bargain basement CD-Rs.

I've been using these CD's for a while now and they work extremely well on my Lite-On SOHW-1673S, getting burning times of 2 min 30 sec average for a whole CD at maximum speed. Highly recommended.

I use these discs for data (but not consistently for audio), and I've never had a problem with one yet. No errors in the burning process, no read problems.

The few times I used them for music (WMA or MP3 files), again no problems, and no complaints.

4.0 out of 5 stars TDK is still at the top of my list, July 20, 2005
This review is from: TDK CD-R80CB50 700 MB/80-Minute 48x Data CD-R (50-Pack Spindle) (Electronics)
I have used TDK for years, and I have not had a single problem. I prefer Japanese CD-Rs like FujiFilm, Kodak, Sony, and Mitsui, but these TDKs work absolutely fantastic when you're in a fix and don't have any of the above mentioned brands.

In using over 200 TDK CD-Rs in 3 years, I think I've only had about 5 defective ones. That's about 2.5%. If you want less odds than that, do your homework and find some special-made CD-Rs instead of mass produced ones.

TDK, although not legendary, sure fits the bill when you need a quick fix.

I've been using the silver data TDK's for a while now, and I've had no problems, they are reliable and they sound superb. I was buying the white music version, but after using and listening to both, there is no difference, although I have a friend who won't use the silver discs because the package doesn't say music!Pretty silly.

Anybody who claims to have problems with errors needs to slow down the burn speed. What is this obssesion with burning at high speeds?? I burn all my dvd's and cd's at 1 and 2x. I guarantee you will not have errors, unless you use poor technique or a piece of junk burner. Slow it down, and you'll get more consistent results. When I burn a dual layer dvd with a 7-8 gb file, it takes about 40 minutes on my Lacie burner, so what!!!! Press record, and go away, watch the tube or whatever. Also, buy the Cardas test cd, about $20 bucks, it has two tracks on it that demagnetize the entire signal path. Use it on the computer, cd and dvd players and let it play thru your stereo or home theatre system. Makes an audible difference, and I think it just might minimize writing errors. All these little things make a difference. My non audiophile friends have commented to me on how good my cd's sound, this is not an accident, believe me!!

TDK's are great, but if you want to go beyond that, try Mitsui dvd's and cd-r's. They are the best with a lifespan or 75 and 300 years for the silver and gold respectively. Total overkill, but total quality also!!
