Also included is a pair of two-way speakers with 5.25-inch woofers and 2-inch tweeters. The speakers do a nice job of rounding out the highs, mids, and lows, especially in conjunction with the bass boost system, which adds extra thump to your bass-heavy beats. The system also boasts three preset equalizer settings (for rock, pop, and classic) that provide different effects depending on the music source.
Other features include an auxiliary audio input for connecting DVD players, MP3 players, iPods, and other outside units; a front-panel headphone jack for people who like to listen privately; and a full-function remote control. The main unit measures 13.75 by 14.81 by 14.19 inches (W x H x D), while the speakers measure 7.88 by 14.41 by 7.38 inches.

Basic system does it all reasonably at a reasonable price,

Nice-looking all-in-one system with decent sound quality. This won't win any awards in Stereo Review, but respectible sound issues forth from compact but substantial speakers. There are some real magnets in there, a bit of heft to the speaker cabinets. The unit itself resembles a stack of components but it is an integrated tuner (digital tuner with presets), a double-cassette deck, a turntable, and a CD player with a 3-CD carousel. The included remote, like the unit itself, is functional, effective, and that's it -- it is not intuitively designed or especially user-friendly, but it works, can hold its own with more expensive systems in the looks department, and provides decent performance. You see where they cut corners -- the turntable has no automatic return of the tonearm, the tape decks have neither auto reverse nor Dolby, the CD player is a little clunky, but all in all, it does what it's supposed to do -- play music and look halfway decent doing it. Comes with a one-year warranty.

I received my system a few days after ordering it. It arrived in excellent condition, no scratches, cracks or anything negative about the condition. I am very pleased with the sound, the look and all the features that are a part of my system, but the best surprise of all is that it has a remote control, which I didn't know was a part of the system when I ordered it. The remote control does almost everything that can done from the unit itself. The system has a wonderful LED lighted display that shows the time when the unit is off and shows the station identification number when the unit is on. The sound quality is great, but the reason I purchased this particular system is that it has a turntable, which is very difficult to find. I had been searching for years for a unit that has a turntable attached to it and had separate speakers. This system does have these components, and with all the other features that are present just make it even greater! I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you!

Not good enough,

I had a Sharp CMS-F800 for many years before this one. Since I'm bi-tonal, as it were,(records and tapes) I need these components, even in an age of CD's. I also have CD's now, so the added CD changer, while unnecessary, seemed like an asset. Amd yet, something registered that all this for this price, and in a handsome exterior, spelled trouble in terms of economizing somewhere. I would have preferred no CD-changer. For these are the negatives.(1) no automatic return and shut-off on the turntable which I had on the Sharp. (2) I don't like the volume control, preferring the digital one in the Sharp. (3) There are periodic clicking sounds, very frequesnt at times, that sound like wires shorting and this because (4) the system is always ON although STANDBY. I don't like the idea of any system always being on, and all my other items, word processor, computer, etc are all in surge protectors turned off until use for just this reason. (5) And this is the big issue. The clackety drawer compartment for the tape player and recorder are irritating and seem on the verge of collapse unless you put your finger on the tape shield in which case the clackety sound stops. No big deal as far as recording goes, but it's annoying, and gives a tawdry aspect to an otherwise smart-looking system. (6) Biggest neagtive of all! Within a little more than a year of ownership, probably within months, in terms of actual use, the recording tape tangles and just when you think your 45 minutes has earned you a finished tape you realize the tape had jammed at the very beginning of the recording, hence your efforts are futile. Thus, the tape recorder is in effect useless. As usual with products purchased today, no one owns up to the merchandise, there's no compunction to answer customer complaints, and warranties last no longer than a year at best, which means in terms of actual use it's potluck. My Airtemp air conditioner lasted more than 26 years of continued summer use. My Sharp more than 15 years of perfect use until the playback tape began to sound wobbly. This one's tape is rackety and gets tangled in recording within a year!! Frank
