5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful sound, incredible radio
Greetings,

My old TEAC SL-D80R(ed) was damaged years ago in a thunderstorm power surge. The CD section no longer worked. Since then I have located and pounced on three replacement units.

Why? The sound quality for the size of the radio simply cannot be matched by any other unit. The overall sound and bass is TEAC "solid". It just sounds as good...

2.0 out of 5 stars A clock radio with no alarm
I bought this specifically to use as a bedside clock radio and, obviously, did not understand from the text or photos that no actual alarm is included. The only "alarm" is for the CD or radio to be programmed turn on at a specified time every day. I guess that works to wake some people but not for me. There is also no snooze button or other normal alarm features. The...

It just sounds as good as it looks. But why three? Well, if another storm takes out another unit, I still have backup. The thought of losing such a fine looking and remarkably sounding radio/CD player forever is just unthinkable!

With two in black and one in red, I am still scouting for one in jade. What can I say? I am hooked.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good listening, October 18, 2008

I have had Teac products before so took a chance on this radio-CD player. The sound is excellent, about as good as products costing four or more times as much.

The price was excellent and the box is a beautiful retro style but even at this relatively low price I can't believe this device has a clock without a simple alarm feature. If shipping weren't so expensive relative to its cost, I would return it.

TEAC has a winner with this nostalgia radio. How I remember listening to the radio in my youth before going off to sleep. Styling is classic and functions are effortless.
