Product Description

Precise Tracking

The X-LUCA mouse provides 100x more sensitivity to surface details for precise movements than any other optical device. Using the Scorpion control processor, which provides 3.2MP of digital data per second (via 3,200 cycles frame rate), this mouse perfectly recreates the movements of the hand on the mousepad on the computer screen-essential to gaming! With a new rubber grip that molds to the hand and inner side of the thumb, this mouse provides the most comfortable feeling and always performs, even in the most chaotic gaming situations.

Tracking Speed

The anti-slip and anti-sweat rubber grips on both sides of the mouse ensure that your movements translate into precise and immediate action. The surface of the upper body is coated with durable and fade-resistant UV paint, making this mouse scratch resistant while maintaining elasticity of the fire command button. While in use, resolution can be changed to best suit the game.

Multimedia Keys

Provides prev-next to enable easy control of music and the web. The metallic scroll bar is perfect for those quick readers or HTML decoders! With these convenient features, this X-Luca mouse - from the renowned Team Scorpion - provides a near-perfect gaming or desktop experience!

Conclusion

Built for Mac OS X, this gaming mouse is what you need to take your computing to the next level.

Configuration software is not available for max.

Whether it's music (achieving the correct automation accuracy), gaming (accuracy, movement), or just general computing (things like spreadsheets and webpage viewing or management) you're into, the new technology and "feel" from this mouse won't disappoint!

I am a PC and PS3 gamer, who's only free time to spend in-game is in the evenings. I like my hardware to have some light behind it, so I can see it even when the lights are dimmed. A while ago I picked up a Logitech Gaming Keyboard G510, which has LED back lights in it, so I can see my keys even in a darkened room. My mouse however, has always been pretty standard. That is, until I got this Team Scorpion X-Luca gaming mouse.

The X-Luca is a corded mouse (no batteries), with the cable having a woven black and red nylon over it for protection and to help prevent tangling. The cable enters the mouse on the left-front side (not the center), meaning this mouse is better suited right-handed mouse users. The cable appears to be about 6 feet long, and has a large, thick reinforced USB adapter on the end. When I plugged the mouse in to my USB port, it was a snug fit. The mouse doesn't come with any software, so it is plug-and-play. Within just seconds of plugging it into my Windows 7 PC, it was lit up and working. Being a corded mouse, it responds just a touch faster than cordless mice do in game.

The mouse uses an optical sensor that glows blue, rather than the typical red you see in other laser mice. There are small holes and slits in each side of the mouse, and crevasses between all the buttons, that allow this same blue LED light to shine through. There is a small button on the top-middle of the mouse, at the base of the scroll wheel, that you can change the color of. It defaults to red when you first plug it in. But by just pressing that button, you cycle through the optional colors, red, blue, pink(ish)/purple, or just turn it off.

The first thing I noticed about this Team Scorpion gaming mouse is the ergonomic shape. My hand rests gently on top of it. I'm left-handed, but this mouse will fit well in either hand (see caveat below). The sides are rubberized to provide a firm grip.

This mouse has two buttons on the side that are pointed out on the box but not mentioned in the manual. They are referred to as the "optional controller" buttons. I am not sure if they are programmable buttons, but when I push them while browsing, they control the "page forward" and "page back" functions. One needs to be right-handed to take advantage of them. I find them awkward to reach while holding the mouse in my left hand.

The scroll wheel is a little stiff; but when I push it, the automatic scroll pops up. This means I merely need to move my mouse up to scroll up and down to scroll down.

Right above the scroll wheel is the tracking speed adjustment. Press the button and the speed automatically adjusts. Each speed is associated with a different color light. Just keep pressing until the tracking speed is to your liking.

PROS:
+ comfortable, anti-slip grip
+ automatic scroll function
+ plug and play, no software installation required
+ tracking speed adjustment button
+ "optional controller" buttons

CONS:
- stiff scroll wheel
- not cordless
- left-handed users cannot easily use the "optional controller" buttons

The Amazon page currently advertises 5 programmable buttons for this mouse, but I'm not sure how to program them. I could not find instructions in the box nor on the manufacturer's website. I could not find optional software to download and maybe make that possible.

However, I do not find it necessary to program this mouse. It serves my needs well and I'm happy with it.

I am pretty picky about my mice, so 4 stars is actually a lot. For me, I like to play games using the finger tip grip and I like to browse the internet and do other things using the claw grip. This mouse fits both grips very well. However, if you are someone who prefers the palm grip, you will not have a good time, as the curvature on the back is pretty much non-existent. With that said, however, I really love the fact that it is such a low profile mouse, because it looks very sleek on my desk.

What I like:
+ Great shape, perfect for my needs
+ Relatively cheap ($16 from China :P)
+ 2400 DPI is adequate, easy to switch
+ Quality cable
+ Gaming wheel

Complaints:
- My hands are oily, so plastic gets slippery. I solved this by putting athletic tape over the buttons and the back.
- In fingertip grip, I sometimes hit the side buttons
- Lights a bit excessive IMO (also solved with tape)
- Optical (Doesn't work on some surfaces that laser works on)

Overall, it's great value, and great for anyone who's on a budget.

I got this mouse about half a year ago and it was great; i used it for games and daily computer things. However, it recently just died on me. There's no light behind the DPI button and does not move the cursor on the computer. The LED in the mouse still works so i know it's getting power and it is not my usb ports. I tried contacting Team Scorpion about it and they literally have no support center. Try all you want, you will only get a "failed to send" message. No FAQ's, no email address,no nothin', just a broken website. I hate companies that do this. I would have loved to give a good review for the mouse and i would have been ok with dealing with the process of sending to fix the mouse or something but they obviously don't care about the consumer here. So, buyer beware.
