About the Author

Erahm Christopher and JC Pohl created “Teen Truth” in 1999 in response to the Columbine High School shooting. Since the launch of their movement, they have gone on to produce several student made “Teen Truth” films, the “Teen Truth Live” speaking series and the Teen Truth: Film Festival. Reaching an estimated 4 million people with their products and mission, Christopher and Pohl are regarded as experts on school climate and student issues. “Teen Truth” Creative Director, Christopher is an award-winning filmmaker whose thought-provoking work has screened on television and at film festivals across North America. He is the co-founder of the youth-focused GO FILM! Workshop and serves as President of the nonprofit A Third Party. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Theatre and Communications from Santa Clara University and a bachelor’s degree in Film from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. “Teen Truth” Executive Producer, Pohl is a producer who has created award-winning content for companies such as Warner Bros., ESPN, and Disney. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas State University, San Marcos and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing from Santa Clara University. “Teen Truth” website and newsletter Producer and Editor, Sarah McGowan, has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz and a background in juvenile, social and restorative justice. After nearly a decade of directing youth programs, developing social justice curriculum and working with at-risk teens, she now lives in Los Angeles where she is a writer, photographer and community-builder.

This is great for teachers and regular folks who want to be moved into action and learn about one of the worst plagues on our children today. Thoughtful and well written. Highly recommend it.

Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This book does a good job of getting to the point. Teachers can use it to initiate discussions in their classroom, teens can read it quickly and not feel like they're being talked down to, and parents can read it to find out what's going on in their teen's life. This is a great conversation starter. Highly recommend.
