Great little wireless speaker!,

This review is from: TENQA Portable Bluetooth Speaker (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Setting up the device was pretty easy. After a few seconds, I was streaming music from my iPhone. The next time my iphone immediately recognized the device. The sound quality is good for the purpose being a small wireless speaker. It's definitely not a Bose but is comparable to other iPod speakers I've tried. For this price, I'm certainly not complaining. If you turn the volume all the way up, you will get some distortion. However, you can turn volume up enough to fill whatever room you're in. I can hear it clearly when I'm taking a shower. The compact shape is nice with its curved front. It's small enough to fit on a nightstand. I also like the silver and black coloring. It really makes the product stand out. The speaker is convenient when watching movies on my computer while in my bed. I just use Bluetooth to connect to my computer and keep the wireless speaker next to my bed across the room. Then I can easily control the volume from there. The SP-109 is definitely better than my computer speakers. Also, I use the speaker to stream music to my kitchen when I'm cooking. My apartment's a pretty decent size and it works fine for me but you may want to be cautious if you have a big house. If you get too far away from the source, the music will start to cut out. Overall, I'm very happy with it and think it's a great value!

Pairing my iPhone with the SP-99 Bluetooth Speaker was straightforward. I found I could go about 30 feet into the next room or outside with my phone and still had a good connection.
I especially like that I have the option of plugging it in or using AAA batteries. It's great for using in hotels. I will travel without the power cord and the batteries last far longer than my trip. It's also nice to bring to the park for BBQ's. Fun product!

Best Speakers Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!,

I needed some speakers that would be more practical than the bulky, ipod dock. I initially bought these to take to the beach and throw in my carry on for weekend trips. I was blown away at the quality and durability of these speakers! They rock! I have ordered several more and plan on giving them to the family for Christmas (okay, and one for my office too ;-).

For about ten to twenty this is the most amazing bluetooth speaker i have tried (i tried three and settled myself on the more expensive -but infinitely nicer- Monster Clarity thing). the sound is not perfectly balanced and does distort a tiny bit at high volume, with muddy bass but gets incredibly loud for its size and if you need a budget wireless speaker you cant go wrong here.

Tinny sound; inconvenient power switch placement,
This review is from: TENQA Portable Bluetooth Speaker (Wireless Phone Accessory)
My experience is similar to that reported in the 3-star review titled "Sound quality was pretty bad". I'm using the unit for music from a CD player or HD radio tuner feeding a Sony HWS-BTA2W Bluetooth transmitter/receiver in transmitter mode. The speaker's useful range (distance to the Bluetooth signal source) is close to the advertised 30 feet. But the sound is tinny, even at close (3 feet) range.* I'd characterize it as comparable what you would hear from the built-in speakers in a laptop computer.
The volume controls and play/pause and forward/backward controls are buttons conveniently placed on the top of the unit. I subtracted a star because the on/off switch is a small slide switch on the rear - I'm finding it more convenient to plug-in/unplug the wall power adapter. * (I'm reasonably certain the sound quality problem isn't a problem with the signal I'm sending to the unit. The same signal gives a rich sound when received with a second HWS-BTA2W unit feeding Bose MediaMate speakers.)

Sound quality was pretty bad,
This review is from: TENQA Portable Bluetooth Speaker (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Just bought this stereo off of Ebay and am seriously underwhelmed. Only paid $12.00 for it and am relieved that is all I spent. I don't know if the unit I received is defective but the speakers really sound bad.
I also tested the Line out feature which is pretty cool, basically turning any stereo into a bluetooth stereo. But the sound quality was equally bad through a nice stereo. I had to stop using it before it ruined the songs I was listening too. Pros: It's range seems pretty good, took my blackberry into another room and it didn't start breaking up till I walked in a closet. Bluetooth pairing very simple and the password key or whatever is 0000. So I was happy with that. Once again I've only used this unit but suspect that this product is not worth paying $50-80. |
