Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The limitations of satellite TV have often revolved around local programming, which satellite providers occasionally don't offer (depending on where you live) or charge for on a per-receiver basis. The Terk TV44 amplified TV antenna remedies this impasse by giving dish owners free, constant access to all programming transmitted over the local airwaves, including HD channels and community stations. The antenna installs easily--simply clip it on your existing satellite dish (no tools required) and it's ready to go. Once installed, its high-quality internal amplifier minimizes signal loss, further aiding the antenna's highly tuned and efficient receiving elements. The end result is the best reception possible whether you're enjoying VHF or UHF stations or HD channels. The TV44 is also weather-resistant, meaning it doesn't wear down easily.

The antenna is compatible with all mini-dish systems (which generally measure 18 by 20 or 24 inches) with dual LNBs. It also comes with all the necessary cables.

What's in the Box
TV44 antenna, four 32-inch coaxial cables, eight 12-inch coaxial cables, user's manual.

Product Description

Nowhere in the description or packaging does it say that this antenna requires a satellite multiswitch. A multiswitch is used for systems using more than 1 TV/receiver. The antenna amplification comes from the satellite multiswitch, and without amplification, this antenna is no better than a pair of simple rabbit ears.

This antenna may work great for those with multi-room satellite setups, but it was worthless for me.

I have a dishnetwork 942 HDTV DVR system. This antenna is designed for a much older system. It doesn't fit the dish very easily and was difficult to secure. I can't tell if it works because so far it just seems to be incompatible with my system.

Very good but not excellent February 22, 2007

In the suburbs of Dallas, this unit works well. We are able to get most of the local channels to supplement our DirecTV channels. There isn't as much adjustment as we would like but we are satisfied with the overall performance. It does much better than the powered indoor antenna that we had been using. We wouldn't recommend it for more rural users because we don't think it would pull in distant stations.

Not as ugly as rabbit ears, but no better reception
I have an older 18" dish and I think this is meant for a dish this size. I tried this clip-on for a few months before giving up on it. Read more

Please just use rabbit ears.
I've had this for a while now. It says it will work with multiple TV's. It doesn't. Only a few local channels can be tuned. Read more
