Outdoor Liquid Ant BaitTERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Baits provide fast-acting elimination of the queen and entire colony. Best use for attracting and killing all common household ants including Argentine ants, ghost ants, cornfield ants, pavement ants, acrobat ants, white footed ants, little black ants, odorous house ants and other sweet eating ants.

To attract and kill ants, simply place the pre-filled, ready-to-use liquid bait stations outdoors in areas where ants are observed and secure baits with the stakes provided. Ants typically follow defined trails from the nest to food or water. Placing the outdoor ant baits close to these trails will improve control.

The weatherproof outdoor ant baits prevent the liquid bait from drying out, providing the ants with a continuous supply of food, day and night.

How Do Liquid Baits Work?

The key to successfully controlling ants is to lure worker ants – those that you see out marching around in plain view – to the sweet liquid ant bait, which they will consume and carry back to feed to the rest of the colony.

Liquid Ant Bait In UseWhile the active ingredient in TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Baits will ultimately kill the worker ant, it slowly interferes with the ant's digestive system so that the worker has time to get back and share the ant bait with the rest of the colony, including the queen. This slow kill is needed to allow time for the foraging ants to make several trips to the bait and deliver enough bait to the rest of the colony. This is the only way to get rid of both the ants you see and the thousands you don’t.

Directions for Use

Outdoor Ant Bait PlacementAfter removing the stakes, push down on the bait cup and twist 1/4 turn. This will start the flow of liquid bait into the reservoir. Place the bait stations outdoors close to where ants can be found entering the home, or where you see ant nests or trails. Be sure to secure the stations using the provided stakes. Ants will enter the bait station through the holes at the top of the ramps.

Monitor your bait stations regularly for activity, but do not interfere with the ants or bait. Complete control may take up to two weeks. Replace the baits every three months to keep ants from returning.

I noticed less ants in the house within a couple of days and gone within a week.

The baits work by "feeding" the ants poison which they bring directly back to the nest where it is fed to the entire colony and kills them off quite quickly.

Terro Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait is the best product we have ever used to kill ants.

If you are reading this, you are having Ant problems. I would like to share my experience so that you know the right way to kill Ant and don't need to spent the effort (of study and kill) like I did to get ride of Ant.

I am having Ant problem this year in the kitchen, front window, and upstairs bath room. I have done lots of research about how to dealing with Ants and tried many products (Terro indoor/outdoor liquid bait, Terro Aerosol, Terro Insect Bait, Terro Ant Dust, Ant Max Bait Station, Ortho Home defense Max, Ortho Ant dust, Ortho Bug-B-gun, and others, etc... After 2 months of fighting and now finally, I get ride of Ant. I am writing this review.

I. Knowing the Products:
1). Liquid bait:
It works pretty well (sweet Ants). However, some problems:
A). Tt does not work all the time. Some Ants just don't eat it (protein Ant)a. We observe there are ants avoid liquid bait for one week and finally use other method to kill them (see below).
B). It takes a long time (from 5 days to 8 weeks).
C). Ant is not necessary eat it right away. In some case, tt take a while for Ants to eat it (even we put bait with on Ant's path.
D). 95% of Ant die within 3~5 days. However, some Ants still show up here and there once a while.

2). Dust and Aerosol:
Kill Ant instantly on contact. Also, prevent Ant to come back. However, Ants can still walk over floor was spray (dust). They might die much later somewhere else.

3). Home Defense and Insect Bait:
Not as strong as above product. It is good to use for prevention. Ant die if Home defense spray on them directly. However, Ants walk over the sprayed floor without any program.

4). Bug-B Gon. I apply three time with water them down.

I used these Terro Outdoor Ant Bait Packs in conjunction with a 3lb bag of Terro Ant Killer pellets, as well as an organic indoor Ant Powder. I started using the indoor Ant powder in the Summer of 2012 after a surprise Ant invasion, and it took care of the indoor problem almost immediately, and it's still effective over a year later, without a re-application. An occasional Ant will straggle in, but that's pretty much the extent of it. The Ant situation this Spring has been pretty big outdoors, though, so I decided to try these Bait packs. the premise is pretty simple, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. First off, DO NOT follow the included directions, which tell you to pop the bait capsules down and puncture them to release the bait before setting the traps in the ground with the included stakes. These Bait packs are flimsy little cups, much like the ones you'd get from a Pizza joint if you asked for dipping sauce or wing sauce. I punctured the first capsule, and I was immediately drenched in the sticky, dripping liquid bait. So now I'm outside with my ten-year-old Daughter and four-year-old Son, and drenched with poison. Awesome, Terro! Needless to say, all of the subsequent bait packs were screwed in and punctured AFTER the trap had been staked to the ground. plus, the packs are flimsy, and hard to twist down to puncture....you really have to squeeze it to get a grip, which will result in liquid bait squirting out, so keep your face and eyes clear....that should go without saying, but....you know that SOMEONE is gonna get this stuff in their eyes, just don't let it be YOU.

That said, the Terro pellets and liquid bait traps did seem to do the trick. The outdoor Ant problem is 100% cleared up. This is good stuff, just be careful with the flimsy packs, and be sure to wash thoroughly when you're done.

All we could find for ants in our local stores were Raid ant baits for indoors. And we did need something for ants. Some ants got into the kitchen through the wall but we managed to snap those early with spray. However, we do have a LOT of ants in the garden and they seem to be patrolling various areas around the house. The Raid baits seem to have mostly done its job but it has been weeks and there are still the odd dwindled patrol.

We recently got these Terro outdoor baits from Amazon to try. First thing I noticed was that they were quite large and so looked a little intimidating because I worried about my dog getting interested in them (he wasn't). They are simple enough to set up and place. They come with a pair of stakes for staking to the ground. When packed for storage, the stakes are a locking mechanism wedged between the actual bait and the platform base. You have to remove the stakes and twist the bait container which screws down and is pierced letting out the liquid bait that fills the platform base leaving a couple of small slits for the ants to enter. That means it's not easy to open or activate a bait by mistake.

Since we had already mostly gotten rid of the ants at the front of the house, I used these to deal with the ant run near the patio door at the back of the house. This seems to be a large ant colony since the line of ants spans a distance of some 30 feet from the wild strawberries around the outside edge of the concrete pation and up to the house by the patio door. I placed a Terro bait there. Like I said, these baits are larger than you might be used to, so you can't always get them right on the marching line and since ants seem to like following along edges I was a little concerned they wouldn't work.
