Function is incredible. Its hard to find yourself in a position where you are doing math this calculator can't handle. only problem is, its a pain to use (as a mechanical engineering student who's familiar with MATLAB). I would not recommend it for anyone below calculus obviously, and I would say that the calculator is best used when you have access to Google to find the input format for most of its functions. Which are a numerous. HUGE.

Pros: Great product, well-made (heavy and thick), great button layout (its different than the TI-83/84, a little confusing to learn but its really useful), functionality is UNREAL, calculator outputs in radicals and variables, oh and did I say that theres a UI THAT HAS A HOME SCREEN AND APPS!
Cons: Takes more time than you want to put into learning how to use your calculator and performs a little slow for graphing basic functions

im an engineering major and this calculator is great it does so much more than the TI-84 i had before it. it made it easier to do the 6 math classes i needed for my degree.

My science and math minded daughter used a loner TI-89 all through her senior year of High School and, after being accepted at a very good engineering collage, asked for one of her own as a graduation gift. My daughter could have asked for another model or brand, but she did research and was set on getting the TI-89. This was most useful for use in her AP Calculus and Physics classes so she checked and found that this would also be among the preferred model in her college classes.

This is a seriously complicated device with a large learning curve and is likely more calculator than most people will ever need, but for those that do need these functions this is likely the right choice. I have only used it once or twice out of desperation and was able to navigate the basic functions.

Great calc, good deal for the $$$$, graphics good; grandson can't use it for his College Boards tho, too smart

The item was presented " like new ". We understand that we are buying a " used " item. It would have been better to describe it like " used " !

The calculator came soon and well pack but has a little damage on the screem, a point black it work well thought

I had lost my TI-89 and was really scared about buying a new one online. Not only did I get a calculator in perfect condidtion, it even had more programs than I needed. This guy is really reliable.

the calculator got here even before than I expected, it looked brand new and worked great.
