Decent but kind of pricey, May 1, 2005

This review is from: 7" TFT LCD Screen for Slim Playstation 2 (Video Game)
The thing is, this screen is designed for the slim PS2. It doesn't require its own power cord, and keeps a very neat low profile. When you close the lid, it shuts itself off. It has 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio selection, and decent sound. It looks good, but it suffers from screen motion blur in fast paced games. This is a common problem on LCD screens with a slow response time, and that's what we have here. Also, some fonts look shoddy and can be hard to read. I'd wait for it to go under $100 before I'd buy it again. If the response time was better I could see paying the extra bucks, but since it's a cheap screen you should pay a cheap price.

Get Joytech's 8 in. LCD instead, March 22, 2006

WHY YOU SHOULD SKIP GAME GLASS's FOR JOYTECH's: I was looking on the internet for an LCD monitor for my PStwo, so I decided to read some reviews on it. Luckily I'm already a big gamer, so I knew the best site to get some gaming information: IGN.com. Then I read through all the LCD monitors available for the PStwo and found out that Joytech's was far and away the best (even among the the older ones for the bulkier PS2 system). This had a 640x480 resolution (twice that of other screens) which makes for a gamer like me (an RPG gamer) be able to read text in games a lot easier. After finding the screen I wanted it was just a matter of finding a place that sells this awesome piece. First I went to Froogle, and there was only one match: Wal-Mart-and that was Online only. Then I tried Nextag (which gave me a lot more results) and Buy.com was the cheapest (well at least in shipping). I'm now loving my screen as it's everything I was expecting it to be (although IGN said in their review the sounds not that good, well it's not BAD, you're not going to get 5.1 surround sound coming out of the speakers or headphones). The screen offers up three viewing "input" modes, Game/DVD, Game (RGB) and Game (YCbCr). The four image adjustment options are available in the more movie-friendly (the image is softer) Game/DVD setting, though the Game (RGB) and Game (YCbCr) settings have locked values for the color and saturation values. Here's the link to IGN's review: http://gear.ign.com/articles/631/631696p1.html and find it at www.buy.com

AWESOME Product!!!!, September 3, 2007

Okay, I'm in Iraq at the writing of this review. I needed a small gaming system that would stand up to a little abuse. I had a PS2 back in the day and saw the PS2 slim and this little puppy and I thought it would be pretty easy to lug it around. Man, I am so glad that I bought this thing with my PS2 slim!! It came with a really good carrying case that you can fit the PS2, 2 controllers, 10 games, power supply, and even a few other little things. It takes up so little room that I was pretty proud of myself about finding it. Okay, the resolution is not as good as your television but dude, what do you expect for a 7" LCD screen under $100? The sound is really good and it supports two headphones. The screen bolts right to the back of the PS2 and stays very snug, resembling that of a laptop screen. The screen turns itself off when you close it against the PS2. The carrying case that came with it was so well designed that it will strap to the back of your headrest in your car and BAM! You've got an instant PS2 in the car. Since the PS2 plays movies as well, you're good to go with movies for the kids. The case even comes with a 12 votl DC power adapter for the PS2 and two sets of headphones. Overall, this complete package is incredible for the low price. I would definitely reccommend it to any military person going TDY because of the space concerns that we must cope with. Basically you have your own little entertainment world in a compact case. Well worth the money. Go get one!!!
