This is an excellent retelling of an apparently true historical saga.
Henry Treece brought the characters to life and really enmeshes the reader in the intricacies of the novel. The introductory story of Gunnar & his halberd, through to SkarpHedin & his feud with the Thrain and the eventual hero Kari & his pursuit of the "Burners". It is gripping. I strongly recommend this novel. |
