5.0 out of 5 stars I love my keeper!
I have had my keeper for 3 years now, and I love it! It takes about 3 periods to figure out how to use it and be able to insert it right every time. So when you get it, don't get frustrated or give up if it takes a few tries.

I called customer service and they were very, very rude. That's all I have to say.

I have had my keeper for 3 years now, and I love it! It takes about 3 periods to figure out how to use it and be able to insert it right every time. So when you get it, don't get frustrated or give up if it takes a few tries.

My keeper never leaks. I wear it for 12 hours, I take it out in the morning and at night. During the day I often forget that I am even menstruating! I can't feel it inside me at all.

The keeper is easy to take care of, simply wash with soap when you take it out. Don't worry about having to change it in a public restroom. Since you can wear it for 12 hours this very rarely happends. But if it does, you can take a bottle of water or a wet paper towel into the stall with you to rinse it off.

The keeper has saved me so much money! I spent $35 three years ago and haven't spent another penny on menstrual products! It is so economical.

The keeper is also so much better for the environment than disposable pads or tampons. The estimates are that 7 billion tampons and 13 billion pads and their packaging are thrown into US landfills every year. That is so horrible! If you invest in a keeper you are not contributing to the trashing of our planet.

If you are allergic to latex, I would reccomend getting a divacup (http://www.divacup.com) which is the same but made of medical grade silicone.

One last comment, the keeper has never been associated with Toxic Shock Syndrome like tampons have, so the keeper is much safer for you.

Safe! Economical! Environmental! Comfortable! Leak-free! What more can I say? This is a wonderful product you won't regret buying!

4.0 out of 5 stars Convenient and comfortable, September 1, 2004

I used a Keeper cup for several years. I decided to try a Diva cup, (basically the same thing, but made of rubber instead of silicone)since I developed a slight latex sensitivity, which made the Keeper irritating.

Menstrual cups take a little practice to learn to use (about like when you first tried to insert a tampon.) Once you have the knack, however, they are easy to insert, can last up to half a day without leaks, and easy to empty, rinse and reinsert. Properly inserted, you don't feel them at all. They aren't drying, as tampons can be on a light day. The cup looks big in the picture, but once folded down, it is a comfortable size for inserting.

Cups are quite convenient when traveling, since there is nothing to carry with you, or dispose of, and you can go up to twelve hours between emptying them. I used my cup with great success durning a recent cross-country vacation, even with the long flights.

I recommend both the Keeper cup, and Diva cup, particularly the Diva Cup if you're sensative to latex.

The only reason why the Keeper gets a 4, instead of 5, is because of the potential irritation if your are sensative to latex. Otherwise, it, or the Divacup, may well be the perfect period protection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why use anything else?, January 24, 2007

I've used this product for years and can't imagine using anything besides a silicone or rubber menstrual cup. There is absolutely no reason to use other products. But, as the other reviews mentioned, there are multiple reasons to use this: 1) no increased risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome (unlike both pads and tampons); 2) virtually no waste (a boon to the environment and to keeping your trash bin unsullied); 3) much lower cost, with the rubber cup lasting up to 10 years; 4) incredibly reduced space in cupboards/travel bags, etc. (and more discreet as well); 5) no leakage (again unlike pads and tampons - they haven't made a foolproof pad/tampon product yet), and no leakage also means cost savings in that less clothing needs to be washed or thrown away; 6) comfort, more so than any pad or tampon; and 7) much greater convenience. Depending upon your needs, you can even leave the Keeper in up to 24 hours. Once a day - say, in the shower - remove, wash, re-insert and forget about it for another day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Changes how you feel about that time of month, November 25, 2006
This review is from: THE KEEPER (Health and Beauty)
I have been using a Keeper for years--am now purchasing my third one. For me they last about 7 years before the rubber deteriorates. It does take a little experimenting with inserting it so you get a good seal, but once you get it, you'll never go back to tampons. It is not as big as it looks in the photo and does not require contortionist poses to insert. On the first day or two of your period, you will need to empty it every 4-6 hours, but after that you can go the whole day with no problem. In a public restroom with the usual rows of stalls and sinks, cleaning your Keeper with a wet paper towel works fine.

I highly recommend this product. It's easy, convenient, comfortable, reliable, economical, and environmentally friendly.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Keeper is a keeper!, October 15, 2007

My only regret is that I didn't come across this thing sooner! Don't let the strangeness of the idea of the Keeper stop you from trying it -- the freedom of not having to buy pads or tampons (and worry about them leaking or not being in the right place to change them) is the best thing.

My period is no longer something I dread -- the Keeper has made it so easy. You totally don't feel it (just make sure you trim the rubber stem when you first get it so that doesn't poke you) -- I felt tampons more!

You can leave the Keeper in longer than a tampon, which means you can go out and have fun or go to work all day without changing it. You can go to sleep and not worry about leakage, too. Honestly, I have never had this thing leak on me!

It isn't any harder to insert than an OB tampon -- you just need to practice scrunching it up and squatting a bit to insert it, then pull down on the stem part to make sure it's secure.

And no, it's not just for crunchy-granola girls. It's for any woman who wants freedom from worry and dread surrounding her period. It's really taught me not to be grossed out by my period. It's easy to clean, easy to insert, feels much healthier than tampons, is cleaner than tampons and pads, and has zero leakage. Plus, you won't have stuff to buy or to throw away.

Emptying it takes a little skill -- you have to be careful not to drip on yourself (but don't fear, I've never actually done so!).

My final word: Keep your mind open, and you just may love the Keeper.
