Dan Parkinson's books are a joy to read. This one takes place in southern Texas...on the coast. (My great grandmother had to shoot one of those cannibal Karankawa indians...like the ones in the book.) When I read Dan's books... I laugh, cry and learn history in a most wonderful way. His characters are so real... and he is a master at introducing you to old friends. This story is dark and scary at times... but full of the great Dan Parkinson humor! BUY HIS BOOKS...read them! He is an American treasure!
