Then the rack part of it wouldn't start rusting after a week of use.

Every time I touch the dish rack the cup holders jostle around, so I'm sure a nice mug would not last long.

It did not come with any assembly instructions so be prepared to eyeball it.

I have been using for about 5 months. Its a great product, plenty of space and well designed. It has not gotten rusty so far.

UPDATE August 2011: So now I have been using this rack for over a year and it has gotten a bit rusty. Not too bad, even if I use it every single day and put on it dishes that are still very wet. But it was bothering me a bit, so I disassembled it, applied an anti-rust product, washed, dried, and put together again.
I have searched in any possible place around the internet and I cannot find a single big two-layers dish rack that is made of stainless steel. Not sure why. Anyway I guess having to clean it from the rust once a year is not that bad, could be worse. I used this rack a whole lot because I cook everything from scratch so I always have lots of dishes and pots and I never have time / bother to dry them (hey thats what a dish rack aka *drying* rack is for... so I dont want to have to dry my dishes manually with a cloth!). The amount of rust on it after over a year was better than I had expected before buying it actually.

I had many compliments about this dish rack, until 4 months passed and the rust started to appear. Be aware chrome plated will rust after a while.

This is a beautiful double decker dish rack. However, the dish rack part of it needs to be coated with plastic or rubber or whatever they use on normal dish racks. The rest of it could stay chrome. Then the rack part of it wouldn't start rusting after a week of use. I'm keeping it anyway because there isn't anything any better for a double decker rack, which is what I need to put up on my narrow bar above my sink.

I love this rack. I heard something about it possibly rusting, but i've had mine for several months now and no rust yet. You could always get spray for it. I love that it's tiered so i'm packing dishes higher rather than having them take up the width of my counter. i have a one-bedroom apt and can use all the space i have, especially in the kitchen. i get all types of compliments on this. small cups (8 oz) do not stay on cup holders, fyi. only the larger ones do. so if you have small glass cups, don't even chance it. Just place them on the bottom rack faced-down.

I sued to have one of those microfiber drying pads but they collect mold and bateria and can smell. when you place a cup or bowl gace down on them it doesn't allow air inside. this alleviated that problem for me.
