I wasn't holding high expectations for this gun before i got it but man this baby meets those expectations and more. the main body is all die cast aluminum including the barrel but the stock and clip are not. The handle is a nice comfortable rubber grip and the clip is a detachable tool holder for your "included" allen wrenches used to take apart and assemble the gun. the stock while sturdy, adjustable, and collapsible is plastic and wobbles a little bit when in use. Despite that so far is my only complaint. It also comes with its own barrel cleaner and pneumatic oil. it feels comfortable to hold but id recommend a foregrip for some more personal enjoyment. the sights are hard to see down with a paintball mask (of course not gonna ding a star away for that). Id recommend an addable rail as well and if your into longer ranges a different barrel. But for this package it is great quality and i found large amounts of enjoyment with it so far and i do recommend for scenario players or even for wood balling.
On a different note and in more detail its around four pounds without added co2 bottles so no problem there. The rail and front barrel are on pretty tight no wobbling what so ever. Its velocity is adjustable and can easily be chronograph ed for your field rules if your into professional paintballing. Easily outdoes its alpha black predecessor in performance looks and reliability. Stocks not gonna last forever so go look for something else early on if your a stock person other than that its easy to remove or collapse. Plastic clip/tool case feels flimsy when messing with but is pretty sturdy material. Hardly any amount of kick but barely noticeable and not even noticeable if you've paintballed before (i like the feel of recoil). Resembles the ar15 well especially with the sturdy shroud. The rails are easy to attach upgrades (sights, lights, foregrips) to. The hopper connector is right off to the side allowing for the ability to add sights scopes to. Go for a low profile hopper for better looks. Performance is well and easily outdoes its predecessor as said before. Got a good 150 yards with the current barrel but if you want serious accuracy go for the sniper kit or buy a new barrel. it has a nicely located cocking hammer for more added realism and feels great. Doesn't sound loud either helps muffle the sound. This could easily be a customizable gun for your chosen play style.
Strengths:
1.Performance top notch (outdoes its well related predecessor)
2.Looks, feels good
3.Realistic with good light weight
4.Easily customizable with sturdy shroud
5.Collapsible adjustable stock (especially handy with face masks)
6.Toolkit/clip is a nice bonus
7.Adjustable velocity and easily be checked with a chronograph
Weaknesses:
1.Haven't spent enough time with it to determine its problems outside the plastic stock and how it might not last as long as its needed

Project Salvo, Best Overall Paintball Gun, July 21, 2010
This review is from: TIPPMANN US Army Project Salvo Marker (Sports)
The Tippmann US Army Project Salvo is the best paintball gun I've ever had. Admittedly, it's the second gun I have, next to the Tippmann 98 Custom Pro.
I've taken this out to many woodsball games and this is a durable gun, and is definitely one of the "best bang for your buck" paintball guns out there. The Project Salvo however is set at a good price for a paintball gun at $150. It looks like an M4 and is super customizable. It has a "picatinny rail system" that lets you slide on just about anything you'd want onto a paintball gun. You can put lasers, red dot sights, cameras, grips, bipods, flashlights and even grenade launchers onto the Project Salvo using its easy picatinny rails.
I myself have added a Tactical MilSim Grip/Bipod onto my Project Salvo and a Cyclone Feeder. This gun is also EASY to maintain. It can be taken apart using the Allen keys/wrenches that come with the gun, and can be cleaned or updated without problems. The magazine/clip is also a neat tool. It doesn't work as a real magazine/clip, but serves as a storage compartment for your Allen keys/wrenches and some o-rings. This way you can fix your gun on the field if you need to (which has never been necessary for me).
This is gun is amazing and I seriously recommend it to new players (because of affordability and easy maintenance) and regulars (because of how authentic it looks and how powerful it is).
I did a review on this gun on my Youtube channel which is [...]
Hope this helps!

This thing is awesome, April 5, 2010

This paintball gun is probably one of the best i have ever used. It has a very sturdy feel, and it looks very cool. I really like the picatinny/weaver rails that are on it. It is capable of many great upgrades, some of which i have installed. The gun is cyclone feeder ready and e-trigger/response trigger ready. This gun is a very good gun and very upgradeable. I recommend this to anybody who wants to do milsim stuff with a gun that looks like an actual military rifle.
