2.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for..., August 24, 2009
This review is from: TITAN Pioneer Men's Mountain Bike For General Commute - 12 Speeds - 26" Wheels - 18" Frame Height (Sports)
When I first received this bike, I thought it was fine. It was easy to assemble the few parts that weren't already connected. As soon as it was ready I took the bike for a quick spin to see how it rode. Immediately, loud rubbing caught my attention. I noticed the wheels were slightly warped and with each revolution, the rear tire rubbed on the gear-shift line running next to the frame. I made some quick adjustments and reseated the tire a bit. It then just barely cleared the line. I wrote it off thinking that since I've been out of biking for so long, surely I was doing something wrong.

Over the next couple weeks (keep in mind I've only had this bike for 30 days) I've ridden the bike a few more times in short stints. All together, I've put maybe 10 miles on the bike. This weekend I went to ride it and heard the rubbing again. I flipped the bike over to adjust the wheel again and this time I found that the wheel is extremely warped. How could this be? I haven't run into anything. I haven't damaged the bike. I haven't even ridden it on wet pavement! It's now pretty obvious that the wheels are horribly cheap. Now that I've become more familiar with the bike, I can see the rest of the components see/feel/seem cheap as well.

It looks like the moral of the story is you get what you pay for. This is a very inexpensive bike compared to most out there. I took a chance by reading the reviews, even ignoring a couple of the negative ones. Now I have to find out how to either exchange or return my bike. At the very least, how to get some wheels that aren't warped. I don't think I can recommend this bike to anyone.
