I purchased a speed bag platform from Amazon earlier this year which came with its own swivel. The platform was outstanding. However, the swivel came with a "side-clip" set up and got knocked off several times and finally the clip got lost. I replaced it with this swivel after much comparison shopping and reading the reviews. I thought it was a bit high priced at the start but the reviews were convincing enough to take a chance. It's a heavy-duty swivel with an easy-to-use Hair Pin Cotter that is much more secure and easier to use than the side clip set up on the original swivel. It allows the bag to swivel in all directions without interference. It was money well spent and I haven't had one incident of the pin coming loose. I'd recommend it without reservation!

much better than the original swivel,i did remove the clip and put some slide gel grease on the pin to make it pivot even better.good swivel.worth the extra money.

There are basically styles of speed bag swivels. (1) U-Bar, like this one. the bag fits on a curved bar. (2) chainlink, the bag is locked into a chainlink and (3) Ballhook, the bag rests on a hook attached to a ball inside the top housing.

All of these have their PRO's and CON's related functionality (rebound action) and ease of use.

This particular swivel is a U-BAR and probably the best one that is currently available. Some here note it has some play in the clevis and parts. That is to be expected for your punching a bag on this thing, probably pretty hard. The swivel and it's parts are going to move. The key to a U-BAR swivel is finding one that has the parts fitting together as closely as possible with very little Play, and this is currently the best one I have seen. Some other U-BAR swivels have a great deal of room and play between the parts, And some have very a narrow, elongated U-BAR. I would avoid the elonged U-BAR swivels for many modern bags have thick bag attachment loops and will not fit on the narrow U. You will NOT have that problem with this swivel. It will easily hold every bag available with a thick or narrow bag attachement, and it's action is relatively clean and fast, particular when the "U" is facing You. If and when the "U" turns away from you - then a punch can send the bag sliding down the U-Bar or float up off of it, which will slow the bag and change the timing, but again, that is a design function of any U-Bar type swivel. when I use a U-BAR, I put a piece of Tape (DUCT) around the bag attachment loop, to help it down and tight on the U-BAR. that helps keep the bag attached to the center of the Bar. But be aware I punch from a 360 arc all around the bag. If you only punch from the front and back, you will probably not need to tape the bag on the bar.

Anyway, this is an excellent U-BAR style swivel, fast and easy to use, and much better than the other U-BARs currently available.

Title is starting to remind me of Neverlast products:

The clevis is cast metal.
The clevis rotates on the pin.
The pin rotates in the swivel.
These parts will eventually wear out.

The clevis holes are not honed, so the pin will damage easily.

The safety pin doesnt hold its shape very long, causing it to fall out of the hole.

At 27 bones, your paying too much for this swivel.

Avoid and pay for a Cleto Reyes.

I was using the plastic ball type swivel that came with my Everlast stand. It was difficult to get a rhythm with the plastic ball. I decided to order the Title Boxing Deluxe Pro Swivel to see if there would be any difference in performance. I was shocked at how well it responded and helped me keep rhythm!! Well worth the money if you have trouble with a standard swivel!
