I've been using these weights for 6 months now and have gained a lot of muscle weight using these. The grip design is excellent on these and makes them easy to load and unload from equipment. The grip design also makes these very well designed for doing weighted situps. I've worked up to using 2 45lb plates now. The center is steel and slides easily over bars. I cleaned them with mineral spirits when I first got them to remove the manufacturing oils from the rubber. The rubber does not smell and is good quality for the price. The weight is not entirely accurate (assuming my bathroom scale is accurate), but unless you need accuracy it doesn't really matter, they are close enough for my purposes. I really wish TKO had a 100lb plate in the set, I might have to get the ones from York which look pretty similar. If you have a nice gym setup these weights will really help to show it off.

This is a really nicely made 25lb rubber coated weight plate. Very easy to grip, well balanced, and slides onto an olympic bar with ease as it has a smoothly polished metal insert. Best of all, very little rubber smell which you sometimes get on rubber coated dumbbells. So it wont stink up your weightroom. Now that I know it is OK, i'll be ordering the 35s and 10s.

After searching and reading reviews I pieced together a set of these weights about 9 months ago. My experience has been similar to the other reviews. They look great, are easy to get on and off the bars, and still look like new. I haven't had any odor issues. I ran across these reviews because I'm back online to order more.

After trying the rubber encased dumb bells, I decided to go with rubber encased plates as well. They don't scratch the floor and would not rust either. However, the rubber encased weights is about double the price for the non coated weights.

The reviews that say this rubber covered weight does not stink are wrong. If you want your house to smell like a tire factory this is the weight for you. It has a gross smell. Do not buy it!

Fits well on the smaller poles, doesn't leave marks on the floor, easy to pick up with the rubber edges. Came fast!
