Product Description

Amazon.com Review

The handsome brushed stainless-steel face plate on this digital travel alarm clock/timer gives it enough cachet to take on a business trip or use in an office, while its water-resistance stands up to rugged kitchen use. Clearly-marked buttons on the front make it easy to set the timer, which counts up to or down from 24 hours in seconds. For international travel, the clock can be programmed to operate in a 24-hour format, so you won’t miss your train at 1600 hours. There are five key functions: clock, alarm clock, count-down timer with alarm, nap timer with alarm, and count-up timer. The nap timer function programs the count-down timer in fifteen minute increments at the push of a button, so you can grab a half-hour nap after checking into your hotel. Separate alarms for the clock and count-up and count-down timers let all three be used at once; different symbols flash for each.

Frequently used timer settings can be stored in the unit’s memory, making it ideal for repetitive timing tasks such as sporting events, games, and baking cookies. Staccato beeps sound for 15 seconds every minute for five minutes, ensuring that you’ll catch it even if you’re out of the room the first time it goes off. The extra-large display measures 3/4 by 1-3/4 inches, while overall the timer measures 3 by 3-3/8 by 3/4 inches. A fold-out stand and magnetic strip on the back add convenience, and a AAA battery is included for operation. CDN covers the digital timer with a five-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice kitchen timer, March 26, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: CDN TM22-S Digital Timer & Travel Alarm Clock (Kitchen)
This is the best household timer that I have found.
Pluses:
1. Large LCD display
2. Easy to set timer - multiple modes (nap timer is great - quick and very easy to use.)
3. memory stores a time for repetitive tasks (e.g., baking cookies)
4. Uses a standard, easily available battery (many kitchen timers take watch-type batteries, ugh)
5. Alarm is easily heard. It sounds when timer expires, waits a short period, and then sounds alarm again. It continues to repeat until cleared. (I hate those timers that ring softly only once, or else sound continuously)
6. Can stand on counter, or magnet attaches to refrigerator. When stand is not in use, it folds in flush to the casing.

Cons:
1. Requires pushing 2 buttons simultaneously to clear a time. One button control would be preferable.
2. It beeps rather loudly every time a button is pressed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Elegant but impractical, November 17, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: CDN TM22-S Digital Timer & Travel Alarm Clock (Kitchen)
When I unpacked this I thought it would be a great replacement for my broken travel alarm, but I've just returned from a business trip and it didn't work out well at all. There is no hard cover or case, so the buttons are exposed and get pressed accidentally in your luggage. They beep when pressed, so you get frequent beeps coming from your luggage, which would just be an annoyance, except that once the jostling managed to reset the clock to a different time and the alarm went off in the middle of the day. Also, if there is someone else in the bed with you, the fact that every button press makes a beep (including turning the alarm off) is not friendly to the other person. I love some of the features (like the nap alarm) and really wanted this to work out, but after just one trip I've already bought another clock to replace this.
