5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Shoe from a Great Seller
When a good friend recommended this shoe to me, I went to many local stores and traveled to many places in search of this shoe. Luckily, my search ended right here. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not made Well
I have been buying these shoes in NYC for 4 years, and this is my first time buying them online. These are of slightly worse quality than normal. The grommet that hold the laces to the shoe fabric come lose very quickly.
But shipping was very fast and efficient.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Shoe from a Great Seller, January 30, 2011
This review is from: TMAS Wushu Shoes (Black Feiyue Brand) (Apparel)
When a good friend recommended this shoe to me, I went to many local stores and traveled to many places in search of this shoe. Luckily, my search ended right here. Not being familiar with international sizing standards, I was dubious of a good fit; after buying my first pair and needing one size larger, this seller sent me a new pair free.

This is an extraordinarily durable shoe for being nothing more than canvas, rubber, and a small bit of padding. Even after wearing these shoes for six months through wet and dry, snow and mud, there are no holes and no tears. If you put them through heavy use (daily running on concrete, perhaps) I wouldn't expect them to last much longer than half a year, but at this price is any complaint justified?

This is my favorite shoe of all time. Wearing Feiyues protects my foot from sharp bits but still allows me to feel the ground beneath my foot. The soles are very flexible and complement the foot's sensory touch, unlike "traditional" bulky shoes most American companies insist are necessary. Save yourself the money and invest in a pair of Feiyues. Five stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Buy, May 6, 2007

I loved my pair so much I ordered five more. Great, inexpensive martial arts sneakers. For the cost of more expensive shoes I was able to buy several of these. I wear them all the time. Surprisingly well made. You can't go wrong.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice shoes!, December 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
A hard-to-find item I am glad I found. They are lightweight (almost as if they are not there), sufficiently flexible, have plenty of grip and are, in my opinion, good value for money. I can't yet comment as to durability because they have only recently arrived and are at the beginning of what I hope will be a long use cycle. My only recommendation is this:if you are in doubt as to sizes, maybe step UP to the next size as they are quite close fitting (and I understand that is how they are meant to be) - but, I am a clear size 44/10.5 in a running shoe and the 44 in this was stifling and circulation killing, whereas the 45 (after a really easy swap over), was absolutely right.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent shoes, May 7, 2010

I have had several different martial arts shoes over the years and these are the most comfortable.
They are not the coolest looking shoes but I still prefer them over the slip on kung fu shoes, pinetree shoes etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Practical Shoe Practical Price, May 4, 2009
This review is from: TMAS Wushu Shoes (Black Feiyue Brand) (Apparel)
Sturdy and light. I chose the wrong size. I am size 12 and chose size 47. One or prob 2 sizes too big, makes them feel like rubber slippers. If just the right size they would fit very snug. Make sure you get right size. Soft rubber bottoms, probably not great for tai chi practice, but would be fun to try as they would make you need to watch your stance and balance more, prob designed for hard Kung Fu and using wide sturdy stance. Decent for kicking a bag too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good product for a reasonable price, January 2, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Purchased a pair and liked them, then I bought another pair ~2 months later for outdoor training use. Not a lot of support for everyday use, but for martial arts training (heavy bag work) they're great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for doing workouts and QiGong, December 23, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: TMAS Wushu Shoes (Black Feiyue Brand) (Apparel)
I thought I'd have to return these as they seemed too big. Let me explain. My left foot is a size 9 and my right on a size 9.5 in American female sizes. These shoes are not really sized in male or female and I wasn't sure what size to get. I got some advice and opted for a size 42. These shoes run small by about a size and there are no half sizes as far as I can tell. So my left shoe felt awfully loose and the right one slightly loose. But, I love the fact the shoes are wide. I have a wide foot and these felt great in the toe box and big part of my foot.

I put in one of my orthopedic insoles and it seemed to pretty much take care of the problem. I'm not used to shoes being this flat and I wasn't sure if my bad knees could stand them. But so far they seem to be working ok with the shoes. They really do feel great to workout in. I get lots of movement and yet good traction.

I suggest you buy one size larger than the size you normally buy and if you wear a half size, you may need to go up two sizes. Also, if you have really narrow feet, you may not like the shoes. But, if your feet are wide or even close to wide, you'll likely love the room in the shoe.

Truth be told, shoes are very subjective and what feels wonderful to one person may totally be miserable on another person. So, I'm hesitant to either condemn or recommend these shoes to you. But they're highly recommended by almost all monks and martial artists.

If you order from The Martial Arts Store, expect three or four days to pass before they ship. But, when they finally ship, they ship overnight. At least they did mine. There are other online stores that would be better to buy from who ship within 24 hours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Tai Chi, October 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Someone suggested I switch from "grippy socks" to shoes for our Tai Chi classes. I was hesitant to spend money for shoes and she laughed! For the price, these are excellent for their purpose. I only wear them in class, not sure about the long term use support. They take a bit of getting used to, a bit rocky at first, but that is only helping me with my balance and leg strength. One small issue - they smell strongly of rubber, I keep them on my porch!
