I got this item for my real steel M4 SBR. I bought it from stdlxz13 the item I got arived fast but doesnt look anything like the picture first off its an airsoft optic not real steel it has fake Aimpoint trade marks the mount has fake Larue stamps. After a full 30rnd mag the mount comes lose. The add says parallax free but theres parallax. Id say if your looking for something for a real fire arm this isnt for you. Id look at the new Vortex SPARC which I am now going to order. Great dealer though fast responces and fast shipping.

It looks nice & it's light weight but thats it. The quick detach mount does not work. To mount it solidly i had to tighten it up so much i can't take it off using the lever. The red dot just floats around which makes the dot useless & sighting it impossible. It's a wast of money, get something from Primary Arms i hear they have good optics for someone on a budget.

This thing has two things going for it that some ostensibly better red dot sights do not have.
1 - The shroud protruding beyond the front lens has a distinct value in reducing glare.
2 - The dial is on the left, allowing right-handers to adjust brightness while leaving their right hand on the weapon's grip. For my tastes, this is a considerable advantage.
This is advertised as running 220 hours on a battery at setting 5. That's a conservative estimate. I used mine on about 10 outings of about an hour each at settings from 7 to 9. Then (still using the same battery) I turned it on at setting 4 and let the battery run till dead. At that setting, which I judged bright enough for an overcast day, it ran 408 hours straight without significant dimming. Soon after it began to dim and a total 552 continuous hours passed until the dot could barely be seen at the brightest setting. This battery test was done in temperatures of 60-65 degrees F.
The 4 MOA dot (typical of scopes of this type) limits its use at longer ranges. Using the lowest brightness setting the shooter can handle helps things a little.
The included riser mount is unlike anything else I've seen that comes with a red dot. The tension on the riser's clip (which you close to fasten it to a rail) can be adjusted until it is pretty tight. I opted for a UTG riser mount, which most shooters probably would prefer.
Once I had the scope sighted in, it stayed zeroed throughout a great deal of routine handling and hundreds of 9mm rounds fired. And, like any decent red dot, target acquisition is lightning fast, particularly for those who are pretty quick with iron sights to begin with.

I debated between a Primary Arms Micro dot and this one from TMS. They appear to be made from the same OE, but the TMS unit is definitely not of the build quality as my good friend's Primary Arms unit.

    Pros:
    - Size
    - Dot clarity
    - Solid Mounting (both on low mount and riser)
    - Good riser with quick disconnect
    - Free kill flash

    Cons:
    - Visible glue/bonding agent globs inside of the eyepiece
    - The 'visible' glob blocks part of the objective

Used on my S&W M&P15-22 (.22LR) and it seems to hold zero okay. However, my intent was to use it as a 45degree offset CQB sight on my AR15. Tested it on the .22 first to see how it would hold up, but the glue glob gives me a lack of confidence that it will hold up to the higher recoil of the AR, as well as the irritation of the partially blocked objective. I realize that this is a chi-com replica item, however, Primary Arms seems to be able to get it right for around the same price.

Mount is cast aluminum or tin, can't really tell. Cheaply made. About as far from a real mount as you can get. When I took the allen wrench and tried to remove the mount, it stripped the grade 1 bolts leading into the optic.
