TNT.. A Tanya Tucker Fan Favorite,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: TNT (Audio CD)
This is the album that finally hooked me completely on the music of Tanya Tucker. This album literally jumped in my pocket as I walked through the record store back in 1979 and boy am I glad it did. Nashville was shocked that Tanya would try and go pop/rock and even more shocked by the albums's center art. That pic should have been included in miniature in this CD but was not. But in reality this is and was a country/rock recording. The big hit was Texas (When I Die) still a crowd favorite. The singles released to pop did not fare well but are wonderful. The sizzling Lover Goodbye opens the set followed by the plaintive and pretty I'm The Singer You're The Song. The rocking and gorgeuos version of Not Fade Away gets your blood circulating. This was a jukebox favorite at a bar I used to patronize while in the military. My personal favorite is the somber Angel From Montgomery and Tanya really nails it. Track five is a gorgeous ditty called Brown Eyed Handsome Man. I had heard Waylon Jenning's version which Tanya completely blows away with hers. Another country hit and beautiful piece is The River And The Wind. Track 8 If You Feel It gets those feet to moving. It's Nice To Be With you is another mid-tempo ballad that perfectly suits Tanya's throaty, sultry delivery. All in all this CD gives the listener a lot of variety as far as song selection and let's you hear that wonderful voice. And at this price it is a STEAL.

Tanya at her country rockin' best,
By "nashrambler58" (Ochelata, Oklahoma) - See all my reviews

This is Tanya going full throttle. Granted the album didn't spawn a corral full of hits, it is Tanya's attempt at a crossover to pop music. Her husky, half angel-half devil vocals are in top form. My favorite songs include Lover Goodbye, Heartbreak Hotel, and Brown Eyed Handsome Man. Another great Tanya album, but one that is hard to find, is her follow up to "TNT". It's titled "Tear Me Apart".

PROOF OF PAVING THE PATH,
By Kelli Norris (Alabama) - See all my reviews
This review is from: TNT (Audio CD)
This Tanya Tucker album is proof that if it wasn't for her, you probably would not know Shania Twain, Faith Hill or Gretchen Wilson or many other female artists of today. Two classics on this collection of music are worth it all: "Angel from Montgomery", and "Texas When I Die".
