3.0 out of 5 stars puzzles good/format bad
USA Today is always consistent with the content of their puzzles. This book would be perfect with a spiral binding instead.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Puzzles But Not the New York Times Ones, August 21, 2009
This review is from: USA TODAY CROSSWORD (Paperback)
These are very good to do in the book. You can also do the new ones on a daily basis online and for free. However, the archiving of the puzzles is limited online for free. So the book provides you with a mighty dose of 200 all at once. The difference between Monday's puzzle and Friday's is not as dramatic as that seen in the New York Times. I can do all days of the week with USA Puzzles. They are challenging yet doable. They do get more difficult as the week goes on but it is very gradual. These are especially nice ones to play online. The interactive feature clues you when you make a mistake so you can catch yourself before you are too far astray. You can also turn this feature off if you want more of a challenge.

This book is exactly what you think it will be; good puzzles, moderate difficulty. Great way to relax at the beach or kill time on a plane or other lengthy travel sojourn.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT PUZZLE BOOK, April 1, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: USA TODAY CROSSWORD (Paperback)
This puzzle book arrived in a 5"x7" format. It is easy to hold. The print is crystal clear. I am 100% satisfied with this product, and hope to find others like this rather than the magazine-sized versions.

2.0 out of 5 stars paperback novel size hard to write ini, October 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: USA TODAY CROSSWORD (Paperback)
By far, the worst crossword edition I've ever used. It's the size of a small paperback novel with puzzles in small print, and the pages are bound in such a way that it does not open flat making it difficult to fill in the blanks. Only an idiot who has never worked crosswords could come up with this layout. The worst I've seen --- and I've been working puzzles for many years. Don't bother with this one, there are many better volumes on the market.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun Way to Relax and Pass the Time, August 30, 2010

Not so easy that they are boring, and not so hard that they are out of reach. Just an engaging way to pass a quiet hour in the afternoon. I really like that there are 200 puzzles - this book has lasted me 6 months.

I bought this as a gift to a friend that is in prison and he enjoys it. It passes the time and he works on the puzzles with fellow inmates. I will be purchasing similar books for him in the future.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, October 12, 2010

For a puzzle book, the binding was too tight and the size of the book made it very hard to use. Tossed it.

Great book. Has medium and hard level puzzles and is small enough to take when I travel.

3.0 out of 5 stars Isn't spiral-bound...beware, February 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: USA TODAY CROSSWORD (Paperback)
I bought this for my Mom (77 y/o and fairly smart). She always complains that she can't find crossword puzzle books that are 'easy enough' for her 'to do'. Yet again, this one proved 'too hard'.
I, however, think this book is just fine. Puzzlers may find that the binding is a pain in the butt, though. Spiral-bound puzzle books are best. Look for those if you can find them.
