Product Description

The TOGGLER ALLIGATOR A10 flush-mount anchor provides a secure hold in solid concrete, brick, and stone, and is made in USA. Once inserted flush with the surface of a 3/8" drilled hole in a wall, ceiling, or floor, the anchor accepts a #10 to #18 size screw with a thread length at least equal to the thickness of the item being fastened plus 2". The fins on the anchor head grip the mounting material to prevent spinning when a screw is inserted. The polypropylene body resists corrosion and expands to fill and mold to a hole when a screw is inserted. This helps distribute the force evenly throughout the anchor's length to help prevent fracture of the mounting material.

Anchors provide support through methods such as expansion from within or behind the substrate, or insertion of adhesive compounds into drilled holes.

Had a tough task, mounting metal brackets on thin (1/2") very hard, very brittle, high fired brick like tiles, thin set onto drywall. Could not use conventional molybolts or other metal fasteners because the tiles were too thin and the hole sizes did not allow for usual metal toggles. After experimenting a bit, these fasteners were just what I needed. I ended up drilling the holes in the tiles with Bosch glass and tile bits using a spray bottle of water to keep them cool because the usual hammer drill masonry bits would shatter the tiles. Then I set the anchors in the holes gently tapping with a plastic hammer. The lag bolts were then screwed into the anchors. I used 3/8" dia. anchors and 5/16" dia. lag bolts. The result was a very strong connection and, after 16 holes, I didn't break a single tile.

Even in retail home-improvement stores, it is difficult to find ANY wall anchors that will take up to a 9mm (.354 in.) diameter screw. I was needing it for #18 5/16th (8mm) Lag Screws, and these are the only decent ones I could find for wall studs which would take that large a diameter screw. They are pricey, but you get 50 of them, so I can live with the cost. There IS an option in one of the lines of products to purchase just four at a time, While that holds the end-cost down for you, the cost-per-piece goes way up. So, I prefer the 50 qty. box.

I bought these anchors to fasten a safe to a fiberboard shelf. The anchors fit snuggly into a 3/8 inch hole. I used a 3/16 inch screws to attach the bottom of the safe to the shelf. The screws expanded the anchors so that the safe was very securely fasted to shelf.
