5.0 out of 5 stars Mine worked like a charm
I'm glad that I didn't read these reviews before investing $5 in a Tomcat two-pack, without any gel bait (ha), from the local hardware store. I made the purchase after work yesterday, set one of the traps with some peanut butter and went to bed. I woke up this morning to find Mickey pinned and vanquished at the site of his final meal. The carcass went immediately into...

1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of money
I'm under the impression none of this company's products work. Like the others have posted, the mouse simply licked these clean (I had set 6 of them). Not a single one caught anything. I've also tried their live catch trap, and the mouse simply chewed a hole in the bottom and escaped.

A ripoff.

2.0 out of 5 stars don't waste your money or time, July 7, 2010
This review is from: TOMCAT MOUSE ATTRACTANT GEL - BOTTLE 1 OZ
When I purchased this trap, the gel did not come with it and I have been using peanut butter from the start. The first night I caught two mice, one in each trap. I disposed of them immediately and reset the traps with more peanut butter. I woke up in the morning to find the traps ready to be sprung, but no peanut butter. I set the traps again with more peanut butter the next night, and woke up to find no peanut butter and no dead mouse. This is not a consistent trap!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Tomcat Mousetraap suck, September 29, 2009
This review is from: TOMCAT MOUSE ATTRACTANT GEL - BOTTLE 1 OZ
I contacted my local Safeway but they have not returned my calls. I purchased 4 of TomCat traps and they do not stay open... I snap them back... apply their bait and then try to gently release them... and they snap shut. I have tried to set these so many times and am sure it is not me... it is the traps. They suck. I wish I could find the old fashioned wooden kind. They always worked and were easy to set.

I am going to start telling everybody on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace etc. to never buy Tomcat products because they suck.

I don't care what they say about a better mousetrap... I am not going to beat a path to their door or beat anything for that matter.

But here is what I am going to do./ I am going to contact my Safeway again and tell them that they better get the old fashioned wooden traps that always worked and were reliable and were cheap... this pisses me off. I can only imagine the reason they carry your product ... I hate companies that pay for shelf space!!! when they have inferior products.

James

Maybe using the gel was the problem for the prior reviewers, because I have no complaints. Try some peanut butter.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work, May 23, 2008
This review is from: TOMCAT MOUSE ATTRACTANT GEL - BOTTLE 1 OZ
This product doesn't work. I have set four of them for two nights now and our mouse has licked the bait clean and moved the traps but they haven't snapped and our mouse is still on the loose. We are going to go with the good old cheap ones now. Do not waste money on these.

First, the mouse gel does not attract mice. The mouse simply ignored the trap for a week. So, I added peanut butter (mice love this best). Every day for another week, I would check the trap and sure enough the peanut butter had been cleaned of...not a trace of it left. The trap otherwise seemed undisturbed.

Buy the Victor Quick Kill Trap instead. On the first day I baited this baby with peanut butter, I had a dead mouse. I'll never buy anything else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works For Me, January 31, 2012

As a testament to the attraction of the "blue gel", I had a bottle that mysteriously disappeared off my tool chest. After some looking, I found it had fallen into the open space of a rolled up carpet remnant. I moved the carpet and the mouse had chewed of the entire top of the squeeze bottle and helped itself to the contents. When I did get to use i,t in conjunction with the Tomcat Snap Trap, it worked great. I put some gel where it says to place it but I also put some at the very back of the trap. Mice are not stupid, you just have to outsmart them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked great for me!, January 4, 2011
This review is from: TOMCAT MOUSE ATTRACTANT GEL - BOTTLE 1 OZ
I think these are really great products, both the trap and the gel. I bought this combo kit a couple of years ago but didn't need it until yesterday when I discovered mouse poop in my garage. I set up the trap using the bait gel and caught the mouse within a few hours! I was skeptical of using the gel as it is basically odorless and seemed too easy. The bait gel is obviously effective and easy to apply deep in the trap. I will buy these again.

1.0 out of 5 stars worthless, January 15, 2010
This review is from: TOMCAT MOUSE ATTRACTANT GEL - BOTTLE 1 OZ
This trap is a take off of the "better mouse trap" which is very effective. The Tomcat traps trigger is not sensitive enough. The mouse eats the bate but it does not trip the trap. I bought 6 of these traps but they simply don't catch mice. I brought it to the retailers attention. They should not continue to sell them
