Cvetko Patient Education Center at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas. Through the stories in this book, women with ovarian cancer pass the "torch" of hope to others experiencing life-threatening disease. In these stories the women reveal how they draw from their emotional and spiritual resources to complement the medical treatment they receive. The stories emphasize the meaning and hope they have found through their cancer journey. This book comes as a gift of hope and encouragement to other cancer patients, their families, friends, and professional healthcare providers. Becky Teter, the originator and editor of the book, wrote in her story: "I have endless hope! And so do you!"

Courage and Hope,

Life is once, not a "trial run" - and definitely not for wimps!
These women understand that and have made a choice to be courageous and hopeful when presented with such heartbreaking news of their cancer. Their stories of sadness, fear and strength reinforced to me the importance of putting life in proper perspective: God with his blessings and trials; love for family and friends; and least of all possessions (if they rank at all). Another important lesson --- take charge of your life and don't leave it up to your Doctor to "take care" of you. Learn the symptoms of ovarian cancer and take charge..... your life may depend upon it.....

I had heard really good things about this book, but was somewhat disappointed. It focuses alot on God and faith, and I am not a religious person. I was hoping for more insight on how to cope with a cancer diagnosis, in a more realistic way.
