The best seat ever - Even for boys!!!!,

This review is from: TOT-Co Toilet Trainer (Baby Product)
I bought this for my son way before we had intended on potty training him, just so he would get used to having it in the bathroom and so he'd understand that it was his special potty. The minute I got it out of the box and put together he loved it and knew what it was and what it was used for (since it looks just like the one mom and dad use). He sat on it and flushed and pretended with it all day long. We put it in the bathroom and within a few months he had completely potty trained himself with very little direction from us (lots of praise tho). And I was dreading the whole potty training struggle thing! We never used the splash guard ( a real toilet doesn't have one so why should a trainer?) we just told him to point it down. The only problem we've had, if you want to call it that, is that once our son started using it standing up, it became a real hastle to clean when his aim wasn't so good. Potty targets and bubbles fixed his aim real quick tho! I've bought or recommended this potty to a lot of freinds and family members and all have had similar results. Yes, it works flawlessly for girls, but is still an excellent potty for boys too. Its very sturdy (Easy to sit on, the hole is not too big or not to little, no tipping over, no wiggling parts while seated), easy to clean and since it looks like a real potty easy for the little ones to identify with. As for the splash guard issue everyone seems to have a problem with, just teach your son how to point it down, it's kinda a no-brainer. Most of the experts tell you not to use the splash guards anyway (they could injure your son and be a "bad potty training experience"). Anyway if your son can't learn to point down, he's probably not ready for potty training, just my opinion. This really is a great potty.

Looks just like the real thing!,

The nice thing about this potty seat is that fact that it looks similar to a real toilet. I have seen that some toddlers have a hard time converting from potty chair to toilet because the chair is more "kiddie" and a lot less daunting than the big, boring toilet. Potty training with this is much easier because they feel like "big kids" when they use this potty chair and then can't wait to use the big real one like a grown up. It makes real flushing sounds and even hold a roll of paper, so they get used to the real toilet faster. It's also nice that it has a lid so they get used to closing the lid down, too. It's not too hard to clean either. It may not look as fun and do the same things as other potty chairs do, but it sure does help teach them easier!

Tot-Co potty really makes Tot-GO !,

We really had a problem toilet training my son, and were just about to give up when I saw an article in [a magazine] about an award-winning potty that looks like a real toilet. It was from Tot-co. We ordered one and my son was trained within a week. It cost a little more, but the savings in diapers was well worth it. My son was so proud that he had his own toilet, just like Momy and Daddy's, and it even makes a flushing noise. GREAT PRODUCT.

23 month old daughter used it within 5 minutes of seeing it,

My daughter received this potty as an early birthday present. She had NO prior potty training what-so-ever. She unwrapped the toilet and she pulled down her pants and pee'd in the potty. My husband and I were in aw. After my daughter "did her business", she hugged the potty and said "my potty". The fact that this potty looked so much like the "big" potty, only that it was my daughter's size, made her feel special.
The structure of the potty is okay. It is a plastic material and for the price the plastic could be a little stronger as it is wobbly. I ended up putting a magnet strip on the toilet lid and "tank" so the lid would quit closing on my daughter's back (the lid is not heavy, but it is irratating to her). I also put the magnets on the bottom of the toilet seat to help stop it sticking to my daughter's bottom when she got off of the toilet. All in all I am very happy with this toilet. I rate it at only 4 stars because the plastic could be stronger, the cost is a little expensive and it is a bit of a pain to clean. I wrote this review 2 years ago... UPDATE: My daughter was fully potty trained within 4 months of using this product. We stored this for a few years and plan on using it for our son. It stored well. The handle on the flusher has not broken yet as others who own this have experienced this. This potty was nice because it allowed my daughter to transition to the large potty no problem. She wasn't afraid of the big potty like so many other kids that I know have been. This helped especially when we were out in public and there were no little training potties available and she had to use the big potty. Hope my review has helped..... Thanks for reading.

My boy loves it!!,

I researched alot of pottys for my little boy & found this potty had the best reviews. Well they were right to rate this potty so well. It is wonderful when we took it out of the box my (then 13 month) old was trying to sit on it before we even had it put together. I did not think he was old enough to understand that you use a potty to pee in I thought he would just sit there. We got the potty so he could get used to it being in the bathroom and let him use it when he was ready. Well to my misbelief he sat down and pee'd right after we had it all put together. He even tried to flush even though we had not put batteries in it yet.
I'd say for me the only down side was the splash guard it comes off way to easily. That however is not a problem for this Mom anymore I super glued the splash guard on and let it sit overnight to make sure it would not come off. Now my boy can't budge that splash guard. Problem solved.

Tot-Co potty really makes Tot-GO !,

This review is from: TOT-Co Toilet Trainer (Baby Product)
What a great and simple concept, a toilet trainer that actually looks like an adult toilet. My 18 month old son was always trying to do things just like a big boy, but toilet training was a definite problem. We tried another potty first, but he wasn't buying it. My husband said it looked just like the dog's food dish. I finally spotted saw an article on the Tot-co potty in [a magazine], so we bought one. He took to it immediately, and even though we paid a little more, the money we saved on diapers because he trained so fast (one week!!!) made it well worth the investment.

Son is eager to try potty! Makes him feel like a grown up!,

Our son is at the age where he wants to imitate everything. This potty allows him to be just like an "adult" with the flushing sounds and the toilet paper dispenser on the side. Our son is a larger child and has no problem fitting on the potty. I also prefer the softer guard for boys as he tends to plop himself down on the potty and I don't have to worry about him getting hurt. Our son is just beginning to potty train but this potty allows him to go through all the motions from sitting to flushing to getting the toilet paper. A very good idea!

Great product!,

My son and his cousins all love this product. I wish I had it when my first son was training - it is really easy to keep clean and the kids love that they can "flush" all by themselves. The area for toilet paper is great, and also a good place to keep the rewards!

Best potty trainer EVER!!!! A++++,

I just received the potty about 1/2 hour ago and all I can say is "WOW!!" My 2 year old son was in the bath when it came. When he saw me take it out of the box and start to set it up he knew exactly what it was, saying "potty! My potty!" Without me saying anything, he got out of the bathtub and sat on the potty and WENT POOP!! He started urinating on the potty at about 15 months, be we've never been able to get him to do a BM in the potty - until tonight! Now I wish I'd bought it sooner! I'd give this trainer TEN stars if I could. We had a converter seat and a very simple little potty before - absolutely NOT the same, I assure you. The only thing that disappointed him at first was that it wouldn't make the flushing sound (we hadn't put the battery in yet - it takes a 9-volt battery, not included).

I LOVE THIS POTTY!!,

I recently purchased this potty for my son. He refused to accept the first one we bought. I believe the fact that it looks like a real toliet did the trick. He has been using it regulary since it arrived. It's quite amazing how his attitude has changed. We almost decided against buying the potty due to a July 30th review but thankfully bought it. I agree the deflector is quite flexible but if a child were to sit on a more firm one he could be injured. Also, the flusher could be an irritant if the child is not taught to use it only after going. Would you let your child play with the flusher on a real toliet? This trainer is a really great product. |
