This is a POE (Power Over Ethernet) Injector. It adds 48 volt DC to an ethernet cable to power devices that support POE (usually VOIP Phones and some outdoor Wifi Access Points). It includes the white box pictured on amazon.com, a separate power supply, and possibly an ethernet cable (I can't remember).

For some reason, the picture made me think that it would be larger. The actual product is quite small.

I've used this for about a month and it works great.

I bought this to power a camera I already owned that did not have POE capability. This unit is supplied with short ethernet and power cables. Note that the specified operating temperature range (32f to 104f) is not wide enough to allow use in an attic environment. The TL-POE10R works very well in my application.

I was looking for a cheap POE injector for a night vision camera that would be mounted outside. Worked flawlessly. There was some confusion about what this actually does. This unit actually inserts power onto the CAT5e cable. There is another unit that looks identical that actually splits out the power from the CAT5 and makes a non POE device have power available. I have only had the unit for a few weeks but it has worked as advertised.

TP-Link uses the same part number for this item even though the Version 2 is NOT gigabit and the Version 3 is gigabit. Apparently this listing is for the Version 2 even though there's nothing in the listing that says either way. It would be helpful if the listing at least had the specs. The Version 3 is black, but you wouldn't know that unless you went to the TP-Link site.

I'm sure it works fine, but I sent it back and bought the Trendnet:

Bought a reboxed polycom conference VOIP/SIP phone for my office and didn't want to pay Polycom $100 for their PoE injector....this worked perfectly....just plugged it in and voila....instant power. No hassles, etc.

I purchased the TP-Link L-PoE10R PoE Splitter to power an outside mounted security camera. Previously I was using a proprietary system from d-link that required an injector and splitter running power over spare wires in the cat-5 cable. The TP-Link L-PoE10R takes power directly from my PoE switch using the 802.3af standard. Included all the parts needed in a nice solid box rather than a plastic clam shell that so many other companies use.

I bought this injector for an ip webcam with POE. I am experimenting with setting up cameras as part of home automation. Somewhere down the line the intent is to have multiple cameras and have a full POE switch. In the meantime this is much cheaper and works well for a single run.

Very happy with the performance and function of this device.

I needed this for a WiFi access point. Simple plug and play, worked right out of the box with no software needed.

We got these POE Injector for our 4 Panasonic Samsung SNO-6084RN outdoor networked security cameras along with a SNZ-5200 camera connected through POE ports. We are using a workstation connected to it using the Essential software. There have been no issues connected to my home network and so far has been running perfectly, forwarding the video data streams from the cameras on 24/7. These do the job well and are reasonably priced.

Highly rated yet an under performer. Arrived DOA, but it looks like it is working. I had to put this on a managed switch to see that is never negotiates properly. I'm pretty sure it is rebooting, because the POE device keep rebooting. For $20 I was hoping for more.
