I have one of those, I bought here in Brazil and works very well in Linux. And worked flawlessly with my RPi. I recommend to anyone who wants wifi for your RPi setup!

On first looks, this wlan adapter looks great. Cheap, small and the signal strength seems better than most adapters of its size/price. When you start to browse the web (not even mentioning downloads), the speed crawls to almost a halt and it brings back a wave of nostalgia to the 56K days.

I have tried this on the 2 routers I have at home, one ASUS router and one TP-Link router and the speed sucks on both. Tried it on another laptop and the same issue with the speed remained (one laptop running Debian and another Windows7). Brought it over to my friend's place to try and again, same issue. I'd advise against buying this adapter and grab something else instead.

Okay, I needed a cheap wifi device that could connect to my 802.11N network and I needed it fast...now I figured that since the driver worked on linux (as someone else reported) then it should be able to run windows 8, and I was right.

To get this to run in windows 7, use the included cd and select either the 32 or 64 bit version depending on what OS you are running. RUN THE INSTALLER IN COMPATIBILITY MODE!

And yes, this review is from the computer that is accessing the internet through this very device.

It's cheap, it's not hard to install, and it works.

The headline really says it all. I used this with my Raspberry Pi Model B, and and can confirm that it works very well. However, you do have to download the driver manually to get it working. I believe it was the 8188eu, and you can find various websites with instructions via google. As for Windows 7, it installs by itself.

I'm not sure how much power this thing draws from the raspberry pi, but I use a 5volt/1.1Amp usb to wall outlet, and can run the RPi in the maximum default overclock on Raspbian.

I recently purchased a TP-LINK TL-WN723N N150 Mini Wireless USB Adapter. I researched other adapters, and I decided on this one, because of the price, and because it was compatible with Windows XP. The cost was unbelievably low, ($13.74). It works as reliably as any adapter I’ve ever purchased, for less than half the price. I’m probably 40 or 50 feet away from the router, and on another floor, and I’m getting very good to excellent reception. I’m very happy with my purchase. And yes I would highly recommend this to a friend, but my main reason for writing this review is to help people who are trying to install the device driver to an XP machine, by explaining just how simple it is.
I read a lot of reviews that said installing the driver to a computer running Windows XP might be difficult. It isn’t hard at all. Here are step by step instructions that I hope will help you.
First of all you will need to have Service Pack 3 Installed. (It might work on SP 2, but I am using Service Pack 3, so I can say with confidence that if your running SP 3, you should be good to go.)
Insert the driver disk, but don’t install the utility or the driver that comes with it. I’m pretty sure that only works on machines running Windows 7. Just close that splash screen. You’ll need what’s on the disk in a minute.
Plug the wireless adapter into any 2.0 USB port.
You should hear the perfunctory bleedoop sound, as your computer recognizes that something has been plugged into a USB port.
Next you’ll see the Windows Device Wizard pop up.
Select the browse to location for the driver option.
It will have a dropdown box that has the C: drive as the default. If you click on the dropdown, it should also show the CD/DVD drive where you have inserted the install disk.

I bought a couple of these to support Raspberry Pi. They came right up. (Recommend a powered hub as the Pi can't source more than about 100 mA of power on the USB ports, combined.)

I'm surprised how slim and small this USB network device is. It was easy to install, got things running in less than 2 minutes. It holds a good signal strength. For the price, it has great value. I have it 40-50 feet away from my router and connection is fine. I'm surprised by other reviews.

okay everyone. This is what happened to me.

I bought this 2 months ago. At first, i'm verry happy with this usb. It's tiny, cute, cool, white... yeah whatever it is.

Easy to use. Just plug in your usb port and it will works (but first, you must install the usb wireless driver, in the box)

So, the main part is here.

The internet speed: yeah. fast, but sometimes too slow. I have to unplug it, and then plug it in again to reset it to the normal fast speed. I have to do that more than 3 times a day. Imagine you have to plug out, in, out, in and then out, in many times....

If someone wanna buy this, I won't recommend this, unless you have no choice.

So sad.
