This version is not upgradable to wrt-dd, the 1043 model is.
1.Even though this router claims to be windows 8 compatible, does not mean they get along with each other.
My network works perfectly with my win7 computer and all my wireless devices but, it will decide to cut off the win8 internet randomly.
2.Wireless network does not like multi devices accessing it.
I'm guessing if you have more than 2 wireless devices you're screwed. Some times it just shuts down the WiFi, sometimes all of home network .
3.If one thing messes up, everything is messed up.
Not to mislead you. If something stops working, the only way you can fix it is by unplugging and plugging back in the router's power. THIS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY!!!!!!!! its almost becoming daily...
WiFi distance can reach all of my 2,630 sq ft house.
300mbps is way to much for this router
they need to update the firmwire (its still v1)
they need to add software that allows it restart itself when it "freezes"
Who would I recommend it to?:
Someone with 1 Computer (not windows 8), 1 Wireless device, and allot of patients. it probably will work better.
Frequently not work well with 2011 early MBP
Frequently not work well with Lenovo ThinkPad x230
Frequently unable to access the admin console
connecting with iPhone will cause other devices lose connection
Even after upgrading to newer version of firmware problem still there
I restart this device almost everyday; sometimes even connecting to LAN still unable to visit the admin console.

Wired works fine. Wireless however started failing after a couple months. Different locations, firmware update/reload, nor alternate antennas resolved the wireless funk.Published 13 months ago by Doug Whetham
I never owned a router that was this unreliable. I tried everything and it still dropped connection and required resetting 3 - 4 times a day. Returned for refund.Published on February 18, 2014 by W. Ball
