This review is from: TR Industrial-Grade 4-Piece Electric Demolition Jack Hammer, with 3 SDS Bits - Point, Flat, Scoop Shovel Spade Bit (Misc.)
This little demolition hammer is a real workhorse. It is heavy for its size, but that just equals more punch, and that extra weight really helped to focus the hammer's blows. My driveway is certainly no match for this little wonder, in fact, my driveway is smashed to bits--just what I wanted.
After a few hours of using this hammer, after I'd determined the best way to break-up my driveway(grapefruit sized chunks), I was half way through the section I'd started on and the hammer looked new and wasn't even hot from heavy use. If you want a reason for not buying this hammer I guess you could gripe about the steel carrying case it comes in, maybe that could be thicker. And one small issue I'll try to resolve--the thing came with only a tiny slip of paper illustrating how to change bits, that's all that came with--no waranty, no instructions, no papers, just the little slip of paper for the bits. Which will be enough if nothing ever happens to this tool. In my case, I've already gotten my money out of the hammer. But if/when it goes south, I'd like to be able to fix it...it's Chinese but is also very solid, a steel body like an old Craftsman and the torque inside to really do the job. I love this tool--so will you!

TR- Industrial Grade Demolition Electric Jack hammer.
Digging out an area of about 20X40 under a barn for storage, and started about 10 years ago with pick and shovel, found the area to be a mix of clay and limestone, like in slabs up to 12 inches thick layered between clay. Looked into renting a contractor grade electric unit for about $85 per weekend. But while surfing the net one night I found this little unit. After reading the reviews on it, I decided to give it a try. Like they all said, the carry case was damaged (dented) and with mine, there was no oil container, and what oil that may have been in the unit appeared to have leaked out (making a mess of the Styrofoam packing). I hammered the case back into shape and filled the oil reservoir with motor oil, as specified by the manual (which is nice to have especially with the part numbers for replacement although I don't know where you would go to get the parts) and noted an initial leak on the shaft seal. This was corrected by running the machine for about 30 seconds (dry seal). Took the machine to meet it's new challenge thinking if it makes it half way through the project, I'll be impressed. It might break cement easily, but we're dealing with Limestone. Well, I have to admit... it works very well on everything up to the boulders we found at the lowest level. If you have the time it will break even the biggest rock, but it goes quicker if you give a little assist with a sledge first to make stress cracks. The bit will then find the easiest path to break up the rock. The spade bit works great on the clay also. In closing, I would recommend this unit. It may be a 'shoulder unit', when it breaks pitch it over your shoulder, I don't know because it hasn't borken yet and we've done some serious work with it, but everyone who has used it is impressed. We're 3/4 done so it only has to last for the last 1/4 of the project, but it seems this puppy may go well beyond that.

I'm only basing my high rating today on the arrival of my demolition hammer. After my order was placed I received a confirmation email of the order being placed and the following day I received a confirmation email that the order has been picked up with a FedEx tracking number and as estimated the hammer arrived on time.
Based on other reviews in regards to the carrying case being damaged during shipping, I was happy to see that not only was the box undamaged, but once opened that the case was also undamaged during the shipping, so two thumbs up there! The case itself is poor quality, thin and I would tell anyone to "watch your toes" because this tool is heavy, I actually had to help the FedEx lady get it out of her truck. Anyway, the handle on the case is cheap and has small rivots holding it on so I would think after sometime that handle is going to give way so not only watch your toes, but be prepared so you don't break the hammer if it does give out and falls to the ground. Upon opening the case, everything was intact. The bits are heavy and seem to be heavy duty. The spade shovel bit is a monster and I'm sure will have no problems going througfh hard clay. I'm in a sand area, but I ordered it anyway just so I have it in case I ever need it. The cord appears to be cheap, so I will replace that as recommended by another person that posted on here. I will also remove each bolt and thread lock them prior to using also recommended. I did notice that the oil level is low in the machine, so I will top that off prior to using. There was no oil in the case, so I don't think it was a leak issue. Its raining today and expected to rain the whole weekend here in Michigan, so once I can get out and actually use the hammer, I'll be back with a follow up review on the operation, maybe even a video review if I have the time.....so far I'm happy and impressed with the actual weight of machine and the shipping, so I hope this review helps someone in purchasing this demolition hammer. P.S. Happy Birthday Dad
