So far I've used this fruit picker for avocados, most of them 12-16 feet off the ground. It does the job fine, much easier and safer than climbing a ladder. Using a strong, extendable aluminum pole, I'm able to reach the upper branches and pull the avocados off, often two at a time. The picker was simple to attach to the pole, using a hose clamp that's provided with it. It will be equally simple to remove, when I need the pole for painting again.

Excellent product. Made from heavy stock so tines do not bend easily.

A must have for anyone with fruit trees, also good to pick Black Walnuts before they hit the ground.

Price was very reasonable considering the high quality.

I was raised outside the city in the orange groves of central Florida. We had a small 3.5 acre grove and in my teens, my dad turned it over to me as my first business venture. I'd take care of the trees, fertilize them, prune them, pick the fruit, wash it and then sell it down by the road. Back in the mid-60s I was doing okay for a teenager!

Even though I used long extension ladders to reach the top of the trees, we also had one of these fruit pickers on a long pole. Of course, back then they were made in the USA. Today, they are made in China. I still live in the same area as back then but only have one juice orange tree in the front yard. Each year, people stop off the road and steal my fruit. Last year, I started picking the oranges before anyone could do that. The juice was great and the thing to remember about orange juice is fresh orange juice is God's medicine to our bodies. The live enzymes in fresh orange juice is like a natural anti-biotic. Not only for it's vitamin C but the enzymes are just like taking liquid health in drink form.

You can't get that from pasteurized orange juice because the pasteurization boils the juice (and milk and anything else that is pasteurized) and the boiling kills all the good parts (the live enzymes) in the juice. We wanted to take advantage of all these wonderful oranges growing in our front yard but I don't like ladders anymore (never did) so I started looking for one of the pickers like we had when I was young.

Of course I found this one at Amazon.com and it's the one that is sold at Ace Hardware stores as well as the Ace brand sold at Sears and other brick and mortar stores. I also found this head at Lowes and other stores but attached to a fiber extension pole for forty dollars.

i attached the picker to a telescoping pole I had, and can now pick fruit up to 15 feet high. The fruit comes off easily and the foam in the cage protects it. great tool beats a ladder.

This is a great product for picking apples, if you have an apple tree you need one of these, they work great!

The fruit picker head works reasonably well if used with the right pole & is good value for the $s. However, Amazon is listing this item with the Mr. Long Arm adjustable pole as "Frequently Bought Together" and "Customers who bought...also bought" The Mr. Long Arm pole does not fit the fruit picker head. Its irresponsible of Amazon to show the 2 together. Find an adjustable pole that's thicker than Mr Long Arm & you will be happy with the fruit picker. Mr. Long Arm is a good adjustable pole. The 2 items just dont work together.

It works OK. A few drawbacks in that the sponge seems to get in the way rather than just avoiding bruised fruit,in most cases I just remove it and use the picker without it. Also if you use it on an extension pole rather than just a wooden pole it would be better since you could reach more. The tines could be a little thicker to add strength to the picker.
